I always loved forest penjing. I've made a few with american elm but my squirrel neighbor didn't like them and decided to rip all them out. I've recently bought a zelkova elm was scared that all the leaves burned and dropped off. It was determined to stay alive and its quickly pushing out new growth. I can't wait to see it turn red in the fall. Please keep us updated on them wonderful slab work.

Nice video Dave. Fair play for attempting a two-species forest. I have yet to do that, but I think your decision to add that Zelkova in amongst the larch really pulled it together. I'm going to enjoy watching you develop both of these slabs!

Too bad you could not find one of those old aquariums with the slate bottoms. Now that would have made a nice slab for you. These that you found are looking good.

Both forests look great on their slab but the second one has something extra with those rocks on top of each other and the cave. Looking forward to see future updates about both of them.
