Nice work I never used percussion on slab napping always had bad luck with it shows your great skill level. But I still would not recommend percussion on slabs You're just asking to split the blade in half indirect percussion or pressure flaking is the only way I ever found that was effective with slab napping you did a very nice job of control on your percussion flaking Good job

Thanks for the kind words. I just enjoy doing direct percussion more and it’s way easier on my body than pressure flaking, especially on tougher rock. Indirect is ok I guess. I like it for getting stuff really thin and I really like how smooth flakes seem to terminate with indirect. I’ll do some more direct percussion on some bigger slabs, and some ceramic tile and then try one with indirect too.
