Paul, it's amazing to see how you've continued to expand your businesses over the years, making decisions based on experience. Not only that, but the way you select and work with your staff is most admirable. And of course, the icing on the cake is your drive. Congratulations, my dear friend and thanks for giving us this newest tour. Awesome!

No SLR, i've just heard it's hard to get glue line on the older ones, and the size / weight even with my shop size is a concern. The 10' slider is pretty darn nice, no SLR sure but for what we do it's good.

I have been a viewer since well before the great purge and I must say you have out done yourself. It was very obvious how much time you put into making this video and you did a great job. To date myself on your channel, I started watching you after watching Matt Cremona and you talk about the saw mills. Could have been another topic, too long ago.

5/10/22; yea Paul, just watched your (latest?) shop tour. Excellent concise delivery of many many machines. Great presentation without digressing into other chit-chat. Have watched yur channel in past. Glad to see you again & always appreciate your passion for your transformations...front log to table or those fancy Sam Maloof chairs. Stay safe & keep on making your 'live edge' table tops.👍👍👍⚙🧑‍🏭😊

Thank you for describing the tools in a way most of us can relate to. It is nice to know you didn’t just magically start with all of this nice equipment, you bought what you could and then upgraded over time- just like the rest of us. It gives me hope that I can get that spiral head or plasma CNC sometime in the (hopefully near) future. Love the Slaburday videos. Thank you!

It's a shame all my videos got deleted, as my channel did show I started in my moms basement with basically zero tools, worked hard to make money to invest these past 10 years to get to where you see now. I'll be telling my story a bit more, as your right most just see the big shop now and say ya well look what they have, its easy. Which it is not! LOL

Awesome! I really enjoyed the shop tour. I am curious as to how many board feet of lumber your mill processes in a typical week. Steve
@CanadianWoodworks
@CanadianWoodworks 2 жыл бұрын
We don't have a typical week, I think we are up wards of drying and selling about 100,000 bdft in a year.

Paul I have seen square planters made from the barked jackets that are uniform for 24" long 12" wide and just mitered ends 3 boards high and a clear coat flash spray. Saves some of your wastage and they make good money.
@CanadianWoodworks

Yes i've actually had some people come pick up the waste pieces for just this. For me i'd be all over something like this....If I did't need the heat (-:

how much electricity do you figure it uses? I had the option to have one for mine because I didn't know where it would be in the future but for the moment where it is I have the power there already and I like the idea of all these benefits of electric. thanks! great videos!
@CanadianWoodworks
@CanadianWoodworks 2 жыл бұрын
Oh for sure the Electric is the way to go for a sawmill if you can, of course fuel costs now are high. But you also have a very simple / cheap motor with zero maintenance and QUIET! The torque of an electric compared to gas / diesel is far superior. Can't say enough good about going electric for a sawmill.

Really enjoyed this video. Drolled so much nearly choked myself. Very happy we have such expansive woodworking operation literally next door to GTA. I think in one the older (not too old though) videos I saw a digitizer (or something that could scan work pieces and convert them to computerized plans. Is that still in use?
@CanadianWoodworks
@CanadianWoodworks 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, yes I have used it a few time but not to what I had planned. I've had to take over the building of pieces again so my "extra" "spare" time that is for growth of my ideas is hard to find these days.

That's quite the collection of tools you've got Paul, it must be a joy to work there! All those old tools are built to last forever, but how has your experience with King tools been, are they comparable to other brands you've used?
@CanadianWoodworks
@CanadianWoodworks 2 жыл бұрын
Id say, most new tools these days are pretty similar in "lack of quality". Do they get the job done yes, do they have issues yes I guess all tools do. But also you can't be like all old tools are better then new tools, there are lot's of bad old tools too. (-: King get's the job done, no major issues.

Paul the whole business process is ideal from cutting up the tree to making tablestops etc, well done you certainly did your homework with this business plan. I have to ask , you mentioned that you replaced the old wadkin planer head with the helical head unit, I'm in the UK and have a very old wadkin planer and I would love to change the head unit completely to the helical head but I'm having zero luck finding anyone who either manufacturers this unit or even stocks them. Now here's where it comes....do you know or recall or even recommend a company either in Canada or elsewhere that makes or sells these unit's for the wadkin planer. Any help would be fantastic and greatly appreciated as I just keep hitting my head against a brick wall and honestly it's becoming a giant headache 🙃 😅 !!!. As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.

Hi, I never did a change on my Wadkin machine, so i'm sorry but im no help here. Thanks for watching. The company that I bought the head for my Genreal planer was Bryd
