I like the way you put that, as a lot of hard-rock bands back in the '70's were either based on blues, or trying to make something "Heavy" out of Pop. Aside from Slade, who were straight out Heavy Rock, the only other one I can think of is Blue Cheer.

Slade Sweet Sabbath Priest UFO Kiss Maiden Purple Ghost Rammstein Just some of the bands I would never have heard and loved if I hadn't watched the telly that night. I've never looked back. 😊

@marcstevens8576 Жыл бұрын
Agree with you, however, Slade were a bit different than AC/DC & Black Sabbath & Led Zeppelin. They weren't blues-based, nor did all of their songs sound the same. They were straight out Hard Rock.A crying shame they never made it big in The USA. They deserved it.
@richardhullah2974 Жыл бұрын
Yes I agree they were unlucky in the US through circumstances. But I think during the 80's they were on the verge of something big when Jim was taken ill and dates cancelled. After that they got tired of touring and that basically was the end of the band as a live act. Still think they should have pursued the US more though instead of giving up.
@marcstevens8576 Жыл бұрын
@@richardhullah2974 Totally agree, as People In The USA finally got to know how great of a band they actually were. They said They would have played at Live Aid, however, nobody asked them to. Don't know about that...
