Such a clean install. You can tell when a shop cares about looks and function no matter what it is. Awesome work on a badass truck.

Really like the use of the bulkhead fittings to go through the frame rail. 1) eliminates the possibility of the air line chafing and creating a hole. 2) if you need to service it or get a hole in the line you’re not fishing a big long chunk all the way through the frame and back up to the cab. And your avoiding having to make a join as a quick repair.

I didn't see if you guys trimmed bottom of the bags for u-bolts, you probably did i justdidn'tsee it, but anyway the base of the bag will crack if it doesn't have enough clearance over u-bolts. I have pretty much the same set up, except mine is controlled by two switches, left & right. I can control either side individually, works pretty well if I'm parked on uneven surface. That 379 is getting real classy! 👍👍

I disagree all 379 ext. have same front end. Have 9 379s. Did all front ends with air bags matter of a day. Each and 6 389 no problem never heard all trucks are different unless different models and name brand. My personal Pete is 1987 early 379 ext Pete with 8 lug. Wheels pilot hubs no one has heard of that but I bought it in 87. Spec it from peterbilt. Air ride bags I use are. AR-GEN3-379 Kits is about 2000 .ooo
@haroldphipps34572 жыл бұрын
Roadway used to spec their stuff with the goofy 8 bolt hubs. Car haulers too, so they can run 19.5 wheels/tires.

well something is missing on your truck,, oh i know stretch the frame and put a bigger sleeper on it would look a lot better, i have a 1980 with thqat lowering kit 3408 cat and new automatic tranny, had a 4x4 too old for all that shifting.also been custom painted a new 140 inch custom sleeper. love that old girl but i bought her brand new has almost 6 million miles on her, but ithas been totally rebuilt from the bushings to the brakes to the air ride. i use it now to tow my 48 ft motorhome,no more dot lol no more logs yippie skippie lol

From what I can see those guys are really good no doubt about it Greg you got some good folks working on your truck there but I’m gonna make a suggestion now maybe this is going to come later down the road but I would wanna make some kind of a shield to protect that fitting that goes into the airbag cause something could fly up there and bust that baby off while you’re cruising to on the road highly unlikely but it’s possible that’s what I would do something like 14 gauge shield something anyway it’s a six in a row jim From Kennerdell Pennsylvania
@j.c.smithprojects Жыл бұрын
this video just popped in my suggested. dont know the history of this truck. what's the story with the auto trans and manual shifter? ii see he used bulkhead pass through fittings in the frame. i would NEVER drill holes that close to the top or bottom radius of the frame. especially above the air bag where the top rail is narrowed for clearance. also the air bag is holding the majority of the steer axle load. lots of force pushing on the frame right there. if you notice that the factory holes are never that close. usually around 2" away from the top. manufactures have specs to follow regarding drilling. potential to crack is high right there. probably ok in a recreational use but would be of concern in commercial use.
