The compressor uses a lot more power the first second or so to get the momentum going on the pump. When there is a lot of pressure in the tank the pump has to use even more power to get it going because its fighting its own airpressure for more air while starting up. Thats why your fuses go when it wants to keep full, but not when empty. Love your videos, and its really cold ice here in Norway ;)

Just gonna say this, ik you commented it in the video, but the actual strut has it’s purpose and that is to catch the bounce. So to give the coil sleeve the most justice is to get new struts aswell, but I agree, you should have proper suspension setup with proper coilovers or bags.

The compressor uses too much amps or watts. Check how many amps your fuses can handle and choose the fuse which has lowest usage (nothing plugged in). The usual amount here is 16A (amps). The wattage is important too. Use a watt calculator to figure out how much your fuses can handle. Sorry, i'm a bit tired so try to understand me.
@Cydreeze5 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you understand how it works completely. Alright so Watt (effect) have nothing to do with fuses (well fuses generate watt but that doesnt matter.) His fuses blow at 10A. Meaning the compressor creates more than 10A. Where watts do come in the picture is how many watts the compressor generates. I found the user manual for his compressor and TL;DR that baby creates 12A so his fuses blow and Canadian outlets suck. Now for the long story. You see his compressor generates approximately 1440W. How do I know this? Well I checked the user manual of course. Well it didnt actually say in the user manual. I used the effect formula. P=U*I. Meaning P=120*12 (Canada outlets are 120 volt.) So that means P=1440. Thats the issue with Canada's outlet. Making them run on only 120V means many amps run through the cables to create many Watts. My compressor runs at 3000W (That more than doubles Robbies compressor) but my compressor only generates about 7,5A. The reason being is that in Sweden we have 2 power outlets. 230V 1 phase outlets and 400V 3 phase outlets. You might even wonder "How come 2 more phasases only create 400V." Well thats obvious square root of 3. 230*1,73 is about 400. Back on topic you see the more volts you have the less amps you need to get a specific amount of watts. So I guess checking how many watts your fuses can handle has some truth to it but why do that when it says on the box 10A fuses. So summarizing all of this: His compressor creates too many amps because his outlets supply too low of a voltage meaning his fuses blow and thats why 230/400 outlets are superior.

If you note that your air compressor is lugging as the pressure builds in the tank, that may be a valve issue, but it may also be a failing run capacitor on the motor. If the motor lugs enough the fuse or breaker will pop. If your compressor is starting to struggle when the tank pressure grows, one of the things to check is the motor capacitor.

With the cheaper compressors like you have there, are piston compressors and when their pressure is too low and it gets turned back on, there is still pressure in the cylinders and more amperage is drawn to overcome the pressure that is trapped in the cylinder.

Couple people have said it already. The compressor is just pulling too much power whether it be the voltage or the amps (usually the amps) you can see if the breaker can be replaced with a higher amperage.
@derrickwmc45 жыл бұрын
The breaker is set to the proper amperage by the electrician who installed it based on the wiring. Installing a bigger breaker/fuse is a bandaid that you may pay for with an electrical fire
@therealGOAT565 жыл бұрын
reddeadmodder28 this is why he should see if it can handle anything more. From the start of following Robbie, I know that this house was rented and the garage was an add on. I am not 100% that any of it was done to code, so who knows what it is rated at and what was installed.
@derrickwmc45 жыл бұрын
Here in the US, rental properties are always inspected and there's no way you would get off with adding on to a building and not have it inspected. It would be very rare that someone install a smaller breaker than a circuit could handle. Best route for him would be to add a breaker and run it on a separate circuit

COLD ICE!!! ❄❄
@tylerwall24325 жыл бұрын
Cold ice my man. Your breaker is getting old. So it's more likely to trip. Plus I think that secondary startup on that compressor plus like 16 or 17 amps. Breakers are ment to operate at about 80% of their given load. ( ex. A 15 amp breaker is ment to be run at 12 amps max before potential tripping). I'm guessing that circuit is on a 15 amo breaker. Replace it with a 20 amp breaker, and when you are going to use the compressor make sure it's the only thing on that circuit. That should hopefully fix the issue.
@tylerwall24325 жыл бұрын
You can usually get the breakers you need from home depot. If you are to switch it out yourself, then all you need to do is take the wire off the old breaker, and screw it onto the new one. It's pretty easy.
