In Bulgarian, "люто" means "hot" or "spicy"

Yeah, it also means something very seriously dangerous. For example: ,,Люта рана" means a very dangerous wound that could be deadly

Does it have the same negative connotation as in Bulgarian? For example Люта рана or люта зима (respectively,,very serious, potentially deadly wound" and ,,a very heavy, cold, hard winter")
