@@Aperture_Turret Everybody I know calls them dogs. Eevee is a fox-rabbit-cat-dog, with its Evolutions all taking aspects of various animals. The designers have listed several aspects of various big cats in the Legendary Johto Beasts-but then some “fans” discredit those or ignore them because Entei’s Poké Dex says it “…barks…” to cause Volcanic Eruptions. (*Even though Lions and Tigers have a similar thing, close enough to a “bark”, because they can’t meow or purr, it’s called a “chuff”.) The only one that isn’t a pure dog or cat argument is Suicune, because it has more elements from the mythical Kirin or Kelpy, but is a leopard or panther, a smaller “Big” cat.

loved the hgss series and call of legends. those were some of the very first series i collected when i got into pokemon cards as a kid. one of my friends in elementary even pulled a half of a deoxys and rayquaza and i thought they were fake at first. i miss that era, the legend cards were a cool idea and the rusted-looking borders are nostalgic

I just got hit with a wave of nostalgia I nearly forgot. I remember trying my damnest as a child to get that Lugia Legend card set. These were some of my favorite cards back in the HGSS set, not only because of the extreme dramatization of the legendary Pokemon but because the card information looked like it was being torn apart by the legendaries. It gave this sense that even two cards couldn't handle the power that these Pokemon possess. Of course, nowadays full art cards fulfill the same role without needing two cards and are actually readable, which is good for competitive and all, but there's still just something so raw about these cards in particular.

There's also a horde of Pikachu card, it gives your opponent like... 3 or 4 prize cards if they knock it out, but it is a boss fight and the card that lets you play it specifically says you fetch the other three pikachu horde cards from your discard pile to play it. So you can use the non-mandatory cards as sack-fodder until you have everything you need

Here’s a story that sounds fake but is what I remember. Many years ago my sister and I were each given a normal 10card pack on Christmas. We each got separate halves of the Lugia card. My parents aren’t gamers, and I doubt they even knew those cards existed, so I doubt they could have rigger it or anything. Idk what the odds are but I have the card still

Yugioh has something similar with maximum monsters, where the artwork is spread across 3 cards that are treated as a single monster when maximum summoned. It’s only available in the rush duel format though.
