I like how this went from slapchop to just how you normally paint stuff in a matter of like 45 seconds

Great Job, I love the Uruk Hai-inspired clan markings. The color scheme is rad as well.

"Slap Chop" really is a testament to the power of marketing. It's just a simple way of painting en grisaille and then shading over it, which has been done for hundreds of years, and Dana Howl even made a whole series on it, calling it underpainting (though hers is aimed at high quality rather than efficiency). But 15 years ago good old Vince put in the work and so once someone attached the catchy name that everyone knew to the technique... Well, here we are. No hate on it, I'm like you in appreciating that people are actually painting their models. It's just consistently fascinating to me that this widely-known, centuries-old technique didn't take off in our hobby until someone slapped the catchy name on it, despite the method being possible long before even contrast paints existed (previously, people used thinned inks).

Good job on the quality of the camera shots! Looks like you spent some time getting, and keeping, the details in focus. Loving the content!

The bronze is definitely a good one, I found adding a couple drops of burnt umber ink to some very strong silver (like Vallejo metal color or air color silver) gives a perfect match with some practice. Keep slaying boss

Really great video. I think it will help get people past the fear of painting. I recently learned how to do a "dead layer". It is an oil under paint of variations of; burnt seinna, ivory black, and titanium white. I think it's the next step in mini painting; as we seem to steal everything from oil painting anyway.))

I liked this method for my Ork Boyz, but I don't love the impenetrable black undercoat (i also dont have an airbrush, so drybrushed both gray and white). I'm going to try Rustoleum Flat Red, a brownish red hue, and either go straight to white or replace gray with a cream color. I unfortunately can't find a spray can of any flat cream color, only gloss, so I may hand-apply Morghast Bone.

I really dig the paint scheme. I thought I hated Beast Snagga Orks but I think I just disliked the GW paint scheme. They look much better in this grimey style.

Be an influencer. Discover zenithal priming and inks, which have existed for years. Rename the technique and say you invented it. Profit.
