Slapstick Origins - This Charming Psychotic Murderous Clown Is Marvel's Version Of Joker!

Imagine a character, one who can defy death or to put it in a better manner let’s say simply cannot die. Next, can recover from literally every degree of damage possible; for instance, survive atomic blasts as well as full-powered hits and not just from anybody but Ragnarök, the cyborg clone of Thor. Well, if all of these are still not enough, the character is also very much capable of producing just any weapon and all he has to do for that is imagine the kind of firearm which he desires and voila! It is right in front of him. Everybody, say hello to Slapstick! For those of you, who are wondering what is with the name, well, he resembles an animated clown, possessing every skill of a slapstick cartoon character. Besides this, he can also warp reality to match that of an animated cartoon.

@@fynnthefox9078 Unless they *really* derailed his character (which, let's admit, Marvel is REALLY good at, especially when it comes to making characters dark 'n' gritty), then yeah, the *only* thing he has in common with the Joker is the clown motif. If anything, I'd say Marvel's closest analog to the Joker is Deadpool; completely insane, a questionable (at best) grip on reality, and absolutely no compunction about killing anybody and everybody he feels like.

I thought Slapstick was more like "The Mask" compared to the Joker. The Mask's powers operate on wacky cartoon logic. And last time I checked, The Joker is only Immortal when the story demands it compared to whoever wearing the mask gives the individual wearing it godlike powers.

You know, it took me a couple of seconds for me to remember who this character reminds me of: Freakazoid. This "slapstick" guy looks like he was inspired by the freakazoid cartoon that I remember watching as a kid. Marvel's answers to the Joker are Carnage, The Zodiac Killer, Achibe, and the Jester (and probably the green goblin but Norman Osborn gives more Harvey Dent vibes with the whole duel personality thing.) Slapstick is Marvel's Answer to the Mask. Whenever you think of a comic book character with the power of Looney Tunes logic you immediately think of the mask.

I’d disagree with the phrasing in the title,while self centered and usually(depending on the writer) self destructive,Slapstick is usually classified as a anti hero at best,in the same vein as Deadpool,food for thought. Also ‘Marvel’s version of the Joker’ is a bit untrue,I mean yeah they’re both clowns,but their motifs,personalities,and overall fighting styles distinguish them as different characters,a more apt comparison would be like those Imps from the fifth dimension from D.C(albeit to a slightly downsized powerscale)

Thinking about it Slapstick is more like DC's Creeper. Likewise the Creeper is not exactly a normal person or well adjusted, he's got super strength and endurance, and a weird sense of humor. Unlike Slapstick he's a dual personality with a normal side versus the Creeper in a sort of altered Jekyll and Hyde personality. Moreover, the Creeper is like the opposite of the Joker in the sense he's got a weird sense of humor but not evil like the Joker.

Nice video about a (not seen too often) Marvel character that I always thought would make a great Avenger. I must say his powers remind me much more of DC's Plastic Man. They're both virtually immortal and indestructible, both are highly malleable, both are reality warpers, both have exaggerated clownish features, both are comic relief characters and while Slapstick has his infinite pocket, Plastic Man came morph into virtually anything. Including working machines, rockets, cars, guns...etc.

MY THOUGHTS AFTER LEARNING CHARACTER (SLAPSTICK) ISN’T A VILLAIN & MORE: Now that I know Marvel character (SLAPSTICK) isn’t a villain, and then here are my thoughts about it; I think (SlapStick) is the complete opposite of DC’s villain (The Joker). And what I mean by that, is that to me (SLAPSTICK) he comes off as a silly, creepy, unbelievable, and very strange type of hero. Now I think it would be very interesting to have a (SLAPSTICK) cartoon show series get made someday. I also think it would be great if a crossover event happen, in which the unbelievable hero SLAPSTICK, would meet the spidey hero SPIDER-MAN, and I imagine the two work together to deal with dangerous threats.

The only thing that Slapstick & the Joker have in common is that they are both Clowns who aren't afraid to kill, That's just about it, Slapstick is more like if you take Everything Looney Tunes and give it the shape of a Humanoid Superhero, his powers are more or less based on Tex Avery's Laws of Cartoon Physics(In a Cartoon, You can do Anything) being used in the Real World, also it's not 'Ectoplasm' it's 'Electroplasm', a mass of unstable molecules that is effected by electricity, anyways Slapstick is a fairly unique take on a Superhero and deserves more attention, Hopefully Marvel will bring him out in a movie eventually, they could even include him in another Deadpool Movie featuring the Mercs for Money.

You just said inside this documentary that before slapstick was argumented with unstable molecule singers spread across at very least 18 dimensions that's got to do something to someone mess with your mind or something so what if and this is just a theory mind you that slapstick is the youngest version of the joker and after he had to leave his own dimension due to some disaster or another he couldn't quite fit in eventually being forced to distance himself from others over time he got angrier and angrier and then he had one final accident as he was dimension hopping he fell into a pool of acid is molecules were too unstable so they couldn't bind back together and it needed a genetically speaking in a metaphorical way like ivy wrapping itself around a pole and slapstick is the ivy and the joker when he fell in is the pool the stability of course this caused a feedback loop between the fragments of the guy that fell into the acid and slapstick so now he became slapstick became the darkest version of himself his powers have become limited but is mental capacity has been increased and there are two different humans thought patterns the fragments of the guy that fell in the acid and himself as slapstick the reason why I'm bringing this up is that different humans evolved differently across different dimensions components being one thing or during the evolution they were exposed to different things so humans are more prone to think this way or behave that way basically he got all the intelligent benefits of the negative modifier of anger rage and physical fighting or receiving damage enjoyment debuff and a numbness debuff so to speak my second version of this theory is that when he was spread across dimensions he was split into two parts one light side and one dark side of course each side had a little bit of dark and a little bit of light in them you know but just like how a drop little water needs a little bit of dirt in it or any kind of material That's heavy like dust or something to collect around and then become heavy enough to fall from this steam or fog or whatever it is up there sorry I'm using text to speech and parts of this is like stream of thought so anyway the joker represents the darker side of that person in a runaway feedback loop well slapstick represents the lighter side of course this also explains why the character can't believe in himself or have a selfish thought because the passive light side part of him and the slapstick persona being a makeshift crutch mental spiritual physical I don't know.
