Myles Kennedy has to be considered one of the best singers in rock right now. Not many singers can touch what he is doing. Absolutely awesome voice. This guy is off the hook good

Todd Kerns, a great lead guitarist and lead vocalist in his own right, creates the entire foundation and strength of movement with the bass guitar work. So many bassists flounder around trying to get noticed by embellishing a song with excessive stunt runs. Todd is brilliant with timing, always in the pocket, and interesting but also solidly supportive transitions. His backing vocals are rock solid harmonizing with Myles... Go Todd!

People forget that Myles Kennedy is the lyricist of these songs. This song is about a dark time in his life where drugs played a part. He was in his late 20's when he was partying with a friend one night and the friend died later the same night. Slash said many of the songs on this album are about this time in Myles' lufe. You're A Lie us also about drugs. You can even see this in some of Alter Bridge's songs, too. Check out 2022's Fable of the Silent Son.

Dirty Sunrise creeping in, Broken bottles, gilled within, The room is black, The blinds are drawn, I don't remember anything, What I've done, where I've been, Another night has come and gone, This is not for me, no, This is not for me, no, This life is not for me, no, This is not for me, no, Anymore, The devil smiles and laughs at me, Says you'll be back, just wait and see, You know I've heard this all before, And I say, You can keep your high life in the hills, Your cocaine lies and whiskey thrills, I don't need you anymore, This is not for me, no, This is not for me, no, This life is not for me, no, This is not for me, no, Oh oh oh, The only thing that makes me whole again, Is to stand right here before you in the sun, oh, I'll keep running til the very end, For the life I've lived is not the life I want. Dirty sunrise creeping in, Broken bottles, gilled within, In a place I don't belong, This is not for me, oh, This is not for me, oh, This life is not for me, oh, This life is not for me, oh, Anymore, yeah, You can keep your life, I don't want anymore, yeah, I'm gonna leave it all behind yeah, I'm gonna leave it all behind yeah, I don't want no more, don't want no more Yeah yeah yeah.

Not sure why Miles Kennedy is so highly talked about. It’s not that he’s bad but he’s damn sure not one of the greatest singers out there. His sound with Slash was bad and he never did anything on his own. He made it somewhat big when Slash used him but he just doesn’t have the rock sound or the look at all. I never understood it. Never even heard his name till he worked with Slash

@@daringndreaminx They didn’t do anything at all! If you notice they didn’t sell hardy any albums! They never made it big and have any hits. If they were a big band then they would have kept the band together and still be playing but they just sucked. They reached less than 1% of the rock community

@@daringndreaminx hell no I don’t watch wrestling. That is silly fake crap. I do watch real fights but not wrestling but how good a song is has nothing to do with wrestling. It can be a song about wrestling but in no way does that mean it’s going to be a great song

@@zackk695 cool story bro but if I recall correctly, this conversation began with your statement that Myles hadn't done anything so I simply responded by stating that Alter Bridge's music has been used elsewhere. It was not necessarily an endorsement of either song's quality. Personally, I find both songs to be excellent but that's just me.
