Slash couldnt mess up a song if he tried hes so damn good. Patience is one of my favorites from the classic GnR era, and although SLash is a bad ass and even still rocks this song with electric guitar, its still best done acoustically, just my opinion only. Oh and omg what if they tried an unplugged gig of about 3-4 songs!

Hell no... Slash's patience solo's back in 91, 92 and 93 were some of his best solos. And Axl singing after the solo is so powerful. This is good, but not even close to the old GnR days.

I agree bliggmusik Axl LOST HIS VOICE ...he sounds nothing like he did in his younger days . I watched him "trying" to sing all of his old songs and his voice was GONE sad to say but I think he should just hang up his MIC and RETIRE with his dignity in tack. Just my opinion . Leave things to SLASH and Myles K. because Slash has LOST NOTHING by aging he's the same old Slash which I must say is AWESOME !

dml9699 one may not forget that the way axl sang was in an extraordinary pitch and tone that took heavy toll. people shouldn't be too hard on the man. if you read where he came from and what he manifested he deserved his hall of fame spot by far. actually the way this song is sang in this clip is like one tenth of the reach of what axl's voice was. no one at the time could ever sang it better than him. amen.

I think slash is amazing, but i believe he is the one who talks the bullshit about axl, i never heard complains about axl from duff, matt, or any other ex gnr member. They're different solos, if you know the original, studio version of the song, there's an acoustic solo, which is this solo but on an electric guitar. The solos you're refering to are completely different made-up solos Slash created for the UYI tour. So saying this one has no emotion is like saying the original song has no emotion, which is false.

Axl might be an asshole, but he did actually sing a lot better than Myles does on this track. I'm not saying Myles is doing a bad job, not at all, I think he's very good. But Axl was a killer when it came to Patience. Just my opinion. I'm sure other people think elsewise, and hey, they should!

Yes they are, but octave lower means 12 notes lower, like if you're playing E4, octave lower would be E3, he is playing all the notes like that, can't you recognize how low the notes sound compared to the studio version...

After seeing Slash's solo act I was finally able to let go and accept that there will never be a Guns N' Roses reunion. It no longer matters to me because while Slash's solo act isn't Guns N' Roses and doesn't pretend to be it does capture that pure rock and roll vibe. Axl can keep his bloated band, self-indulgent performances and washed up voice, I don't need him anymore.
