I’ve been wearing red matte lipstick for 30 yrs. And I’ve never expected it to last through eating. I’ve always removed it to eat and then reapplied after. Why we expect this seems silly. Unless you are going out for a meal there’s no reason not to just remove and reapply.

There *are* actually a LOT of matte lipsticks that last through eating. Or, maybe they'll require just a bit of re-application, but at least they don't bleed or smudge outside the lip lines. As I said in the video, the product claims to be smudge proof but it's not. During 16 hours (the wear claim the brand makes this product lasts), one would be expected to eat at least twice which is why I tested it against two meals. The color still looked great after eating once, as you can see, but the smudging specifically went agains the claim the brand made-- so it's one of those things of expecting what you're being told the product is supposed to do, and whether it does that or not. The point of this review was to test it against the claims the brand made of the product so people can know whether it delivers. If you're already used to removing/reapplying then these would be pretty to add to your collection for sure!

I’m excited to try the revlon suede ones but these are a pass for me! I prefer to skip lip liner if possible!

The Revlon ones are actually really good. They don't last through greasy food as with most liquid or bullet matte lipsticks, but they don't smudge or transfer with drinking

They are a pass. Pretty colours, I love the size of the tube but the feathering makes me want to say no… unless you tell me they are so so much more comfortable to wear than liquid lipsticks. I’ve been a fan of the Maybelline Vinyl Ink lately as they are long lasting and not as drying as the other liquid lippies.

I bought 143 (cuz I’m cheesy and that’s what I text my kids so I had to specifically have 143 😂) but I surprisingly love the color on me WHEN and only when I top w/the Elf mint chocolate gloss. That is a beautiful combo when smudged together on the lips, in terms of looks alone, not lasting power 😅.
