I think you are spot on about your take on this board. I surfed it in 10-12 sec period waist high and head high surf in the Caribbean and it gave me so much more speed than my typical high performance surfboard. I think, as you said, I'll be surfing my No-Brainer more than any other board for most of the season.

Awesome review. I have had similar experiences with a number of other so called 'grovel boards'. They don't seem to work until the waves are around chest high +. I had a Lost Puddle Jumper and Bean Bag, which i have reviewed. Neither would work in small UK junk. So what is the best board for surfing small UK waves if you don't want to ride a mal? As a big fella, I've really struggled to find something suitable. So far I've only found one board that works for me in said conditions.

if they consider it a groveller it will be a perf groveller , i think they said that because of the rocker and rail shape are quite generous, it the perfect mix of attributes between a small wave board and a more performance one. This board doesnt like wave too big or too powerfull but for most of european all medium weak wave the board is good, bunch of speed. ( i demoed the board)

Any thoughts on comparing the no brainer with the chumlee? Does it have the same "performancey" feeling that the chumlee brings to grovelers?

What size no brainer would you recommend compared to your normal short board? e.g. A litre more volume etc. My usual volume of performance shortboard is between 25-26 Litres (5'7 Mayhem Sub-Scorcher). So I'm considering something like the 5'4" No Brainer at 27 Litres. Your thoughts would be very welcome.

SPOT ON ASSESSMENT. Not a traditional groveller. Step up from a proper grovel board and step down from a shortboard, but the board is epic
