Didn’t watch the video, but I suppose these would be predominantly foreign children. Unfortunately, slavery is common around the world, so tragic. Maybe we need to get back to local farms instead of big food farms, farm to table, supporting our local economies and producing healthy, happy animals that provide exceptional nutrition. Many people choose an all meat diet to deal with leaky gut and various other chronic illnesses. I live in an agricultural Area where family farms still work hard and have integrity.

My grandfather, had learning disabilities I'm pretty sure but he could hardly read or write. He dropped out of school as a teenager, I think he was 15 yrs old. He applied for a local slaughterhouse and that man spent almost 40 years waking up at 3am, working 12+ hour shifts pushing blood from the floor to the pit. He said it was better than being around his wife and "listening to her run her mouth" 😂 he had a point there. Anyway, my father worked there for a few years. I lasted 3 weeks before I went back to a kitchen. I'm currently a Chef and I work for the family that owns the slaughterhouse my grandfather worked for. Grandpa lived on a farm. He was more valuable to the family I guess, working in a slaughterhouse as a child. I'll never understand why they hired him so young especially when he was illiterate. Before anyone asks, he was raised in a very rural area and they only had tiny school houses. I always felt sorry for the man. He really never lived at all. I wish he lived long enough to know that I am a Chef for the owners. He'd be proud. RIP Grandpa Herbert. You were tough as nails!

Schoolwork is much more demanding than it was back in the day. Kids shouldn’t be working hard or physical jobs under age 18. It keeps them in a cycle of poverty. They won’t have time to study and will be tired or distracted in school. Wealthy kids will always have an advantage because they are allowed to dedicate 100% of their energy to studies and gaining scholarships whereas lower class teenagers have to work and get an education.
@rhinoandlue9 ай бұрын
@@agees924 Yes, I agree however if you’re hungry and homeless because you have no money and living in America illegally by yourself you won’t be able to focus scholastically 100% either. I would offer an argument that these kids will do well in life due to a good work ethic. This is not an ideal situation regardless it won’t always lead to the cycle of poverty. Many wealthy young adults are void of work ethic and an ability to multitask life and work balance despite a stellar education. Often resulting in a cycle of mental health crisis which includes anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation. Often leaving wealthy young adults unable to work. Leaving them in a cycle of poverty unless their affluent family cares for them financially. I’m rooting for these young people to succeed become legal and live the immigrant American dream.

I worked in hayfields all summer. at the age of 11 my day started at 5:30 am and ended at 9:00pm with dinner and supper breaks. This was normal when I grew up. To little is expected of todays generation and they grow up without a work ethic and being responsible. Today its all fun and games with people believing if they work its bad. Its not. But the state i live in lets minors work as young as 13 but they only can work 6 to 8 hours per month and they had to have permission from parents and the school, also showing they had good grades ans could keep them like that...and these kids were so excited to have 15 bucks an hour even if it was for 6 to 8 hour PER MONTH, thats alot of $ for a kid. @@scillyautomaticThey arrived here without parents because they were sent here to work and support their family. What we see is foul or bad, they see as a golden opportunity. It's not ideal by any means, but it's probably better than the future they were born into in their homeland. It won't stop because Americans don't want those jobs but somebody has to do it.

When are you going to do a video like this on the child labor in the lithium battery world?
A one year investigation and you put out 16 minutes and 15 seconds of information. I wonder how much money you made doing this? Because investigating for one year needs to be a two hour documentary.

I like meat beef pork fish and chicken…but it’s 2023 and there’s gotta be a better way…we can’t subject life through the horrible things going on in these slaughterhouses..animal cruelty and child labor abuse…lab grown foods sound better every day…doesn’t sound good but I bet with investment and a solid plan and sound supervision within 10 years we could be feeling the world with nutritious foods with a lower impact on people and the environment….stop stuff like this…by the way I started working in manufacturing at the age of 14 it’s absolutely no place to grow up I figured out that 35 years later….

Those children sadly do a better job than adults at this because adults don't want to do what they do. The children also do a better job because they desperately need the job. Adults can get injured or killed on the job as well. I lived in an upscale area and the market hired kids to work for them. There was a small butcher counter that had a meat grinder and a 16 year old lost his hand in it. Accidents happen I wish they didn't. All of these workers are at least working or trying to. They will be doing what when this ends?

This is a very hard subject to address. I believe in working hard in life, to HAVE a good life. But I don't believe in making children work long hours everyday to pay bills. My daughter had a little job she got for herself when she was 12. But my husband and I went with her. As a parent, It is my job to protect her. If these children are being forced to work long hours every day, they obviously aren't going to school. I'm sorry, but to me? This is wrong. Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention! I hope further laws will be made to protect the vulnerable children. They are the future. ❤
@LastBruhStanding10 ай бұрын
Opportunity is created through desperation. The kid was probably sent here through savings of an entire family in a country with low paying jobs, if any jobs. They support an entire family just like Henry Ford's workers did. It's certainly not ideal, but in contrast to the future in the other country, it's much better. Americans aren't lining up to do this work. Agriculture either. Once again, desperation creates Opportunity. Check the cocoa harvesting, much younger and Nestlé and the other manufacturers know it. It's been going on for decades and I don't think a news clip will change it. Unfortunately.
