@@thesaucylorax It's called the pre-explosion buildup trope. And this is Star Wars, there's not a lot of emphasis on realism. Previous episode had a little green alien with telekinesis after all. If you need to anchor the seismic charge effect in realism, you can always handwave it with the implosion happening before the explosion, or something something antiphase, or maybe the pre-explosion explosion sends out a frequency that temporarily overwhelms your sense of hearing, or maybe it's because of midichlorians - who cares.

I think people hate the prequels not because of the the sorry or lore itself......but the EXECUTION of it. Like people think it could've been produced better, better dialogue, go in more detail on some things. Still good movies though. The new movies by Disney have some problems though to say the least. Many think Disneys movies shouldn't even exist, that they should've done something completely different. Whereas I think most people agree the prequels were a great idea, deserve to exist.....but could've been made a little bit better.

I believe the seismic charge was based on the depth charge (although not sound-wise obviously.) It's not exactly a sonic boom since sound waves don't propagate through a vacuum, more like an energy wave.

Also Seismic energy, relies on vibration of particles, but you don't have enough in space to create a Seismic wave. But Alas, Star Wars is fantasy and we all Love it that way ❤️

@@chirayatabasu Nope sound CAN travel through space as long as it has a medium to be carried in... like an explosion!. Now you might not hear it, but that doens't mean its nto there. But if you did stick head out of your ship and into the wash on an explosion you WOULD hear that sound in space.

The reason this sound is so great is it’s actually a hit on a huge musical instrument called the Blast Beam. Same thing they used in the first Star Trek movie. One of the most godlike tones ever created.

Sounds amazing, but the inconsistency in size, between the old Star Wars and the mandalorian bothers me, old one is huge and blasts astereroids that are a lot bigger than two ti fighters and the mandolorian is just a small shockwave that barely surpasses the ships

The sound design of this chase between Jango and Kenobi in the attack of the clones was really mind blowing in the theaters, lasers were going off everywhere and seismic charges were rumbling the seat, it was a special experience and Lucas knew it by not putting soundtrack in this scene, it is one of the few parts of the star wars movies (pre Disney) without soundtrack.

I know the mando charge was fan service, but it was so beautiful to see a second instance. Having boba be so badass as to calculate the detonation to take out the ties is incredible depicting.

I usually don't like much of the sounds in star wars, but once a huge star wars fan showed me this, I had to put this in a favorites playlist, these types of sounds are amazing
