People are trying hard to prove that Islam allows something that is just their own desires. There is not even a single Hadith where it’s said 100% you can sleep with your slaves and make them pregnant. And from my knowledge the prophet pbuh didn’t have not even one kid from a slave woman. And he had slaves And about the Quranic verses, it is not always as it sounds. Just as people say Islam promotes killing bcs Quran has said it… but that’s not true

no, the only reason why women and children were slaves is because the deserts of arabia would show them no mercy. they would be vulnerable to the wolves of arabia and therefore were under the guidance of muslims, they were slaves by name only, since the sahabi allowed slaves to be virtually free and created plenty of ways for slaves to be granted freedom in a society where slavery was a norm. Marriage, Conversion, working, and other reasons can graint you freedom which was unheard of at the time. Islam treated slavery like a disease such as alcoholism, it can't be cured in one night, therefore a 3 step program is created to cure the disease. And yes, Islam viewed slavery as a social disease. surely Allah knows best, if he didn't let the Prophet pbuh and his companions look after the women and children who were at risk for prostitution, being an actual slave in another persons ownership or dying from starvation, lack of protection and more and he didn't let them keep them for a certain amount of time after/during the war, then wouldn't you say how unmerciful that is? wouldn't you think otherwise? surely, Allah knows best. the ''slaves'' were treated like brothers and sisters, not animals. this is only during war tho

@@SPhyd what? sorry that doesn’t make sense, the women and children were prisoners of war, and afterwards they were temporarily taken in and LOOKED after. it’s really annoying to explain this bc people are just gonna keep saying ‘oMg there’s nO justificaTioN for slAvery why would the Muslims dO thAt??’ when FIRST OF ALL, this was only during war, and the meaning ‘slave’ in the Quran DOESN’T EVEN correspond to the modern term meaning. it’s only by name, in this case meaning ‘under the protection of ‘ ‘, and not someone who’s owned. they only took the women and children in so they could be protected, and in exchange do a little bit of work or that every now and then. they were given the same rights as any other person, alongside having even MORE rights. in this case, it’s the fact that the ‘slaves’ can be set free whenever they’re ready, and there are loads of different ways. would you rather the women and children not be taken in by the Muslims like this, and die out in the open or be taken in by ACTUAL slave owners? Allah let Prophet Muhammad pbuh and his companions do this as an act of mercy

Embryology in the Qur'an could be traced to the Greeks. Life arising from water already existed as a concept from you guessed it - another civilization before the Qur'an. Many other things found can be forced interpretations and translations like the verse they take saying that it says iron comes from meteorites when it only mentions that Allah sent down iron. We also knew this already as King Tutankhamun had a dagger made from iron from a meteorite. Many more things can be assessed. On the other hand, when we look at stories of Noah's Ark, we see it as a myth found in Sumerian tales. When we see mentions of hellfire, we see earlier on that the Torah has nothing to do with hell as a place of eternal torment and barely focuses on the afterlife. The word jahannam comes from the Hebrew "gei ben hinnom", the cursed Valley of the Son of Hinnom, a real place which Jesus also mentioned where wicked were buried and people threw their trash away. Descriptions of hellfire found in Islam came along in the Christian apocryphal texts in terms of the Abrahamic section of things. Jesus speaking from his cradle was part of the apocryphal texts of Christianity.

Slavery in Islam was only allowed for prisoners of war as a punishment for people who fought against Muslims and as a way for newly acquired people to be able to transition into the new Islamic government. Even then, Islam made it so that "slaves" were taken care of and were not punished harshly by their masters. The intention of Islam didn't establish slavery, rather it reformed it and gave a way out for slaves. The Qur'an on many occasions says to free slaves.

I live in Pakistan, and here there are land lords. So the socioeconomic system is like this... There is a land lord, who owns a lot of property. There live many uneducated poor families, who work at those fields... The story of those families is this... They get some money, and food and clothing and they dont know anything else... If you give them, even a million rupees, they would waste all that money over prostitutes and drugs... So what happens is this.. They live there and work at those fields. Their children, if landlord is generous, live at those homes, help in daily affairs and also they are educated there. . some of such kids are good in education so they have more opportunities in life... And thats how life is... My grandfather was like those kids and his education was fascilitated by the land lord. Now tell me, isnt the condition of these people similar to those of slaves? If yes, what alternative system do you propose for these people?

@Mohamud Ahmed Quran talks about the reality of matters, as they were, but does not approve those conditions. Each command in Quran talking about slaves is about free them, not that you can/ should keep them. Even about female slaves, Quranic command is that, either you should marry them, or you should get themselves married to a suitable guy. About male slaves, Quranic command is.. If he wants freedom, ALLAH orders muslims to either set them free, freely or to take their price from them and set them free. These are clear commands in Quran.. About war prisoners, Quranic command is... Set them free as a show of good gesture or set them.free after taking some ransom.. If there is mention of prophet making people slaves in history, the validity of that history should be questioned, or it should be interpreted that at that time, this was the only practical option, and that thing was done out of necessity not that it was a regular option, because Quran is very clear... Quran condemns slavery. Quran have orders to individual muslims that they should free their slaves. Quran have orders that Muslim state should use the tax money to free the slaves.

Very male preferential not to mention the polygamy or the marriage of young women to males 10years+ older than the girl/women being a norm. @@em499 Thank you for providing the exact sources. Muhammad (pbuh) did not take a slave by giving money. Zayd was bought before Islam by Khadija and she gave him to the service of Muhammad (pbuh). As for the wisdom of Muhammad's (pbuh) taking slaves: Allah, who has infinite knowledge, intended to remove a phenomenon that has been rooted in minds for centuries such as slavery with the most effective method. In other words, as in everything, in terms of liberating slaves, He made Muhammad (pbuh) a model for all humanity. He announced that the believers who believe in Allah and say that he loves Him should follow the Messenger of Allah. In that case, it is necessary to look at what kind of model Muhammad (pbuh) is in this regard. There are a plenty of hadiths where the messenger of Allah (pbuh) motivates the believers to liberate the slaves, to be kind with them and not to call them slaves. He himself had liberated all the slaves he owned due to wars and gifts from some people. At the time of his death he had no slaves left after him. From the sociological point of view it is impossible to change traditions and beliefs which are cemented in peoples minds through centuries. The society can be changed only with patient and gradual approach, by opening the door to progress. Making radical reforms is against the nature of human beings, as it is practically impossible to sustain it against the resistance of society.

But righteous is he who believes in God, and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Scripture, and the prophets. Who gives money, though dear, to near relatives, and orphans, and the needy, and the homeless, and the beggars, and for the FREEING OF SLAVES ; those who perform the prayers, and pay the obligatory charity, and fulfill their promise when they promise, and patiently persevere in the face of persecution, hardship, and in the time of conflict. These are the sincere; these are the pious. Surah 9 verse 60 “ Charities are for the poor, and the destitute, and those who administer them, and for reconciling hearts, and for FREEING SLAVES , and for those in debt, and in the path of God, and for the traveler in need-an obligation from God. Slaves where a part of Arabian society if the prophet saw just straight out banned it there would be a lot of homless misplaced jobless slaves so he promoted the freeing of them & gave them rights also not just anyone can be enslaved only prisoners of war no free man can be enslaved no one can be Born into slavery you had to clothe them & feed them from what you ate & treat them kindly so it was definitely not the systemic slavery of the west when you think of slavery

Prohibiting alcohol wouldn't have had any impact whastover to the society however prohibition of slavery would crash the economy. And in consequence to that nobody would've believed in the prophet. So for people to believe in this new prophet, some things were left as they were, only to be prohibited informally later on. Like slavery for example, Islam encourages through several times to free the slaves and it's one of the most pious acts in Islam.

@minionknight4828

Firstly, Allah SW knows best. I'll try answer as best as I can. About the many wives, there were many reasons as to why. One is that some marriages were meant to foster relations eg his marriage to Maria the copt. Another reason(and more prominent in his marriages) was to widows for guardianship. See 7th century Arabia was like any other historical time, filled with war. And with war came widows and due to this, some worthless men would seek to take advantage of them, however if they were married and especially to the Prophet SAW no one would dare touch them. Also do you have an issue with having many wives? If yes I'll explain further. Btw his first wife was lady Khadeeja who was a wealthy merchant and employer to the Prophet SAW when she fell in love with him and proposed to him and he married her. She was also older than him. Now about his marriage to lady Aisha, the Hadith we have today are of a matter of dispute about the matter. Some scholars criticize the chain of narration to be erroneous since some narrators while others the content matter. If you consider other hadiths and sources which gives the age of her sister and use their age gap, you find she was in her twenties and she had also received any marriage proposal before. I personally do not agree she was 9. However, most daee today explain the 9 year version to eliminate any doubts and to cover the whole field and all possibilities that even if it was true then there was no issue.

Because women in early times couldnt provide for themselves and their children. Many men died in wars , so they too many women. Marriage was important for women. And in the case of the prophet it was more important. Because he had a message to convey. His wifes became scholars and narrated many things of the prophet. Some marriages were to end hostility between tribes. After marrying women of different tribes, the people of the tribe were honoured that the prophet choose them

So Dr. Shabir Ally, Allah permitted and encouraged believers to take prisoners of war as slaves and also have s** with them and make them concubines, was this the best he could suggest? Could he do not better? You said that (4:15) human beings have developed an advanced level of consciousness today, so did Allah lack the same level of consciousness back then? Or you are suggesting that you have outgrown the consciousness of Allah of 1500 years ago. Are you suggesting that Allah was not all knowing? He could not tell something which could last until the day of judgement? You said that (6:31) slavery was rampant until 17th century and there was hardly any voice that said that there is anything wrong in slavery, so that means you are talking about the views of the Masters and not the slaves, right? Were the slaves until 17th century preferred being slaves and was it their preferred livelihood? Could Allah also not think from the perspective of slaves? Or was Allah sending verses only for the benefit of the masters? So today you have an internal turmoil and discomfort (9:18) over these practices of slavery and concubinage, why could the Allah, who is all knowing, not feel the same level of internal turmoil and discomfort that the human beings have today? The human beings have become more humane than the Allah of 1500 years ago? The point is, in first place such statements could not have come from Allah, who is the most merciful. Having s** slaves and having concubines could be the desires of sick men, but such practices could not be suggested by Allah.

And give them out of the wealth of Allah that He has given to you. And do not compel your maids to prostitution - if they wish to observe chastity - in order that you may seek the temporary benefit of the worldly life. If one compels them, then after their being compelled, Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful".👍🏽

The Quran and prophet pbuh have clearly stated that “All humans are descended from Adam and Eve, There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of a non-Arab over an Arab, and no superiority of a white person over a black person or of a black person over a white person, except on the basis of personal piety and righteousness.”., which gives no room to subjugate a human being in any way!Secondly, Allah has abolished slavery in steps : 1.Slave raids to acquire new slaves were prohibitted 2.Freeing slaves was made noble act and involves in many acts of worship, which should help to extinguish the slave population 3.The slaves should be given equal rights such as clothing them with similar clothes you wear, eat, drink, live etc, and not allowed to chain them, freedom of movement, marriage etc. Such a person cannot be called a slave. In modern terms he/she will be far better than a servant Now the only possible way to acquire slaves was via prisoners of war, but even this is not well substantiated in the Quran : "So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens}" [Surah Muhammad 47:4]. Many may not know that this verse is a source of pride for Islamic law.. Why? Because it does not mention the option of slavery in dealing with prisoners. {…either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them]…}. Either Muslims free them or take something in return for release, but the option of slavery does not exist. Prisoners of war were gradually given rights equivalent to others and freed up gradually. Inculcating them into islamic society insted of chaining them in prisons (which was not possible at that time) will enable them to see the message of islam.

Your answer is confusing. Are you saying Islam allowed for slavery or not? You seem to be saying both. Also there is no racial superiority promoted in Islam but there was superiority based on religion for sure, with Muslims being the “right” ones and Jews Christians Pagans and others being wrong and able to be enslaved. You cannot enslave another Muslim but you can enslave a person of another religion. Raids to capture slaves were not ok but wars to capture slaves were fine. And as a slave you couldn’t just marry as you wished. Your master decided who you married. If you are female the master had the right to have s*x with you (no consent required) and he didn’t have to marry you. If a slave married another slave their children were also born into slavery. Besides which If you read about slavery in the ancient world, most cultures if not all encouraged the freeing of slaves as a good deed. It’s not exclusive to Islam. In fact in one time during Ancient Rome, the freeing of slaves became so widespread that the emperor put laws in place to slow it down a little. Read up on slavery under the Zoroastrians and compare it with Islam you might find it interesting

@@rahafsuw What a lame question. Did Allah start slavery? No, His creations did . This world is a test Allah said. In Quran, Allah in nowhere wanted us to suffer, it's the consequences set by the surrounding that makes us suffer. Allah always say that He always wish for our betterment . If he solves all the problems for us, then what's the meaning of our test, what's the meaning of sending us here? Allah isn't responsible for our destiny, Every people chooses his own destiny and Allah just writes them as he can foresee our future actions .He also enriches our destiny when we call him ( if not in earth, then in afterlife for sure). Allah doesn't discriminate among anyone whether it's a child born in poor family or rich family, a mental patient who doesn't even understand what is God, a fetus dying in its mother's womb or a child dying because of hunger . Allah discriminates no one . He has divided the results of our deeds between this life and life after . Does every crimin*l, rap*st, Thi*ef gets caught and punished in this life? No, but they will be punished by God afterlife. Similarly, God will also reward those who have suffered in this life and remained fruitless. Everything I have written is from Quran Hadith. I doubt you even tried to understand Quran and Hadith and think about these once .

@@Varun-zf9vq His prophet started slavery? You mean Mohammed? Do you have any idea you're talking about or just came here to spread hate? Give me one authentic proof from Islamic sources that he started slavery. Slavery was there for millenniums. Slavery was always there from Abraham to Muhammad. But Mohammed is the one who's put finger upon for no reason. Don't you know that many of Allah's prophets were slaves and were sold as slaves earlier ? Also Allah saved the sons of israel(Israelites) from slavery through Moses . Slavery is never encouraged in Islam. But as it was impossible to abolish slavery at that times, Allah created rules and provided them with proper rights. But Islam falls a victim to it just because of providing slave rights.

Surah 90 verse. 11. But he did not brave the ascent. Verse 12. And what will explain to you what the ascent is? 13. THE FREEING OF A SLAVE . 14. Or the feeding on a day of hunger. 15. An orphan near of kin. 16. Or a destitute in the dust. 17. Then he becomes of those who believe, and advise one another to patience, and advise one another to kindness Surah 9 verse 60 “ Charities are for the poor, and the destitute, and those who administer them, and for reconciling hearts, and for FREEING SLAVES , and for those in debt, and in the path of God, and for the traveler in need-an obligation from God. God is All-Knowing, Most Wise” Surah 2 verse 177 Righteousness does not consist of turning your faces towards the East and the West.

@@sonnen3900 21:30) Did the unbelievers (who do not accept the teaching of the Prophet) not realize that the heavens and the earth were one solid mass, then We tore them apart,28 and We made every living being out of water?29 Will they, then, not believe (that We created all this)? 28. From the wording of the text, it appears that at first the whole universe was a single mass of matter; then it was split into different parts and the earth and the other heavenly bodies were formed. For more details, please see (Surah HaMim, E.Ns 13-15). 29. From the wording of the text, it appears that Allah made water the cause and origin of life. See also (Surah An- Nur, Ayat 45).21:31) And We placed firm mountains on earth lest it should sway with them,30 and We made wide paths31 in them that they may find their way;32 30. For explanation, see (E. N. 12 of Surah An-Nahl). 31. “Broad highways” are the passes between high mountains and the valleys and ravines made by the rivers in the mountainous regions and other natural ways that connect different regions on the earth. 32. This is a very meaningful sentence. It may mean that the people may find paths for traveling on the earth, and it may also mean that the wisdom that underlies the skill and the system of their creation may guide them to the reality. 21:32) and We made the sky a secure canopy;33 and yet they turn away from these Signs.34 33. For explanation, see (Surah Al-Hijr, E. Ns 8 and 10-12). 34. That is, those signs which are in the sky.21:33) It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Each of them is floating in its orbit.35 35. The use of the words kullun (all) and yasbahun (float) in the plural (for more than two) indicates that not only the sun and the moon but all the heavenly bodies are floating in their own separate orbits and none of them is fixed or stationary. These (verses 30-33) are capable of being interpreted in the modern scientific terms in accordance with the present day conceptions of Physics, Biology and Astronomy. Here it should also be noted that( verses 19-23) refute shirk while verses 30-33 present positive proofs of Tauhid. They imply that the creation and regular functioning of the universe clearly show that it is the work of One All- Powerful Creator, and no sensible person can say that it has been created as a mere pastime for the sake of fun. When the fact is this and you see proofs of the doctrine of Tauhid all around you, in the earth and heavens, why do you reject the message of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and demand other signs from him. Read the translation as well and plz don't connect two different topics , like , some people Say that Islam says kill disbelievers no it's Not like that let me explain u In Verse 191 Chapter 2 of the Holy Quran, God says: “And kill them wherever you encounter them and expel them from where they expelled you. Oppression is indeed worse than murder. Do not fight them at the Masjid Al-Haram (Ka’aba) unless they fight you therein. If they fight you, then kill them; such is the penalty of the disbelievers. this verse was revealed when Muslims on the Hajj pilgrimage were attacked and killed by the Quraysh tribe who had signed a treaty with the Prophet to not attack the pilgrims, But no one bothers to understand. The Quran has been revealed in parts over a period of 23 years to Prophet Muhammad. So, the verses are situational. Every chapter in the Quran mentions the location where the verse was sent to the Prophet. Also, the Quran is not compiled in a linear format. The same situation has been touched upon in an earlier chapter and part of it is anecdotally spoken about in a chapter much later because the Holy Quran isn’t a book of stories. It’s a book of lessons and morals. No one mentions the verses that follow because then the Islamophobic agenda would be lost. In Verse 193 of Chapter 2, God says: “And fight them until there is no more oppression and the religion is for God, but if they cease, then no aggression is permitted except against the transgressors.” How is this any different from Lord Krishna telling Arjun in the Bhagavad Gita to fight as his dharmic duty? BG 2.33: (O Arjuna! If you do not fight for this religion and turn away from your religion, then you will lose your fame and glory).” Surely, Hindus will know the context. I don't want to do debate because I hate it from my School life but if u have any questions I'll try my best to answer .

It's not like west people enslave black people who torture them, racially abuse & kill them Prophet Mohummad (pbhuh) was a slave too, it's Literally that sentence that makes you muslim "there is no god but Allah & Mohummad is his massenger & servent (slave) Back in the days when brutal slavery was so common(you know the stories) then Islam came & freed the slaves! But in wars, the attackers bring their family in war so their family encouraged them to fight till they died! At the end Islam won & most of them died but their family left alone, any other religion/even atheists would kill them in war like situations but Islam chose to slave them that literally means using them for housework while providing food, clothes for them, even though that time food was so hard to find that our prophet use to fasting! Once a time when a slave owner slapped a slave that slave came to the prophet & asked for justice, prophet ordered him to free the slave! Imagine if prophet didn't even let a slave owner slap them, how you think they can s*x with them without marriage? slavery doesn't only means white people brutally tortured Blake people in America? We all are slaves of Allah,We humble ourselves, knowing that how much rich or famous we become but Allah will be always above us! Indeed Allah will provide you heaven for this hard life, slaves have far better chances go to heaven than ordinary people Don't forget Bilal is the first man who will enter first in heaven & he was a black slave

Quiet ironic that in Islam there is self-entitled view of being so respectful of women and preserving of their true nature, yet such laws as this exist. There seems to be a highly hedonistic tendency in Islam. It can also be seen in the metaphysical descriptions of Jannah, wherein the content of heaven is something that applies to the senses and lust. It seems to me that Sufism is the version of Islam there comes more near to the mystical and loving side of reality. All in all, though i am still on a journey regarding my Christian beliefs, it is highly probable that this is not the fruit of God. The fruit of God must be love and cannot be the allowance of concubines. There's no arguments to be made for this stance.

May I suggest that you look into the argument put forth by Shri Krishna in Bhagwatgeeta or Geeta for short where in he explicitly mentions that we come from nothing and vanish into nothingness and nothing we acquire in this world remains attached to us after death. The soul doesn't carry a purse for the gold. Humans don't create anything truly except another human and whatever they have accomplished and accumulated as wealth or donated as gift in their lives do not matter after death. We are all here in a journey and that is all that matters.
