The two groups of women mentioned in the verse the wives who were given dowries and the wives without dowries. The captive women or cousins ( the right hand possession)who might not ask for dowries or especially slave women will not require dowry to be married. I believe Quran made this distinction between those two groups of women but nonetheless they have to be married before sharing a bed.

Why is he not sincere in giving an answer? He should know that sex slaves is already prescribed for believers (33:50) in reference to the women authorized by Allah for a Muslim man's sexual use. When a child or a woman is taken captive, they become slaves by the fact of capture, and the woman's previous marriage is immediately annulled. This is because having sex with married slaves is also permissible (4:24). The Quran clearly states that Muslim men have been given permission to have women prisoners of war as their sex slaves. It says: “O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee" This is just one of several personal-sounding verses "from Allah" narrated by Muhammad himself. In fact, there are several other verses in the Quran about the sex slaves. Muslim apologists often pretend that passages of the Quran which clash with modern sensibilities have a different meaning in the original language, even if this alternate meaning already seems to have eluded fourteen centuries worth of Arabic-Islamic scholars. Although Muslims often decide which parts to follow or ignore, the Quran (33:36) says that it is not fitting for a believer to choose for themselves (i.e., disregard) any matter already decided by Allah.

To sleep with a concubine meant marriage. I think the confusion is because we are thinking of marriage as the formalisation or procedure we are commonly familiar with in later times. There were many ways to "marry' at that that time. Nikah doesn't always mean aqd al Nikah in the Qur'an. It sometimes means both or one or the other.

The answer is - depends on if you believe the hadith that says he did are legitimate. Ally already admits to not only s*x slavery but the slaves must 'consent'. Not sure why he doubts the hadith pertaining to Muhammed. He already enjoyed more wives than anyone else was supposed to have.

@El Malakh Feo I’m answering you from a Baha’i perspective. Every time God gives us a new revelation it’s expected that we should investigate it and recognise it’s truth and then accept it. Judaism was abrogated by Jesus and Christianity was abrogated by Muhammad. Each revelation was complete for the time it was revealed in. God will always guide mankind as we evolve. There is also no final messenger and no final book. Gods revelation to mankind is an ongoing guidance.

Excellent summary. Slavery n sex with concubines was the zeitgeist till time of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Quran textually phased out both through example of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. What was practiced historically by Muslims in their civilisation is also something which cannot be denied in case of Slavery n concubinage but Quran is categorical in this context . Jazak Allah.

Slaving people is only acceptable in war and enslaved people have same treatment as normal people in various hadiths prophet said: do not beat them, don’t scold them, dress them how you dress , feed them what you eat, slaves are your brothers, do not burden him beyond his capacity , treat them as your family , don’t treat slaves badly, don’t curse slaves, don’t abuse slave and many more Also the prophet even said Don’t even use the ‘Slave’ word for them , say they are my young brother or young sister. Furthermore, non-muslims used to kill the captives(slaves) but islam said take them and join them with your family cuz if we will free them then again they will come with better strategy to attack. So, Slavery in Islam is just like brotherhood.

It would have been so much easier and understandable if she was his wife and had children with him. Sahih al-Bukhari 4461 Narrated 'Amir bin Al-Harith: Allah's Messenger (a) did not leave a Dinar or a Dirham or a male or a female slave. From a historical point of view: we all know prophet was surrounded by enemies who wanted to kill him and when people came with army against prophet , prophet won the battles and kept captured captive because if he would’ve freed them again they will go and come up with better strategies in war to kill the prophet. Keeping the captives as slaves is better than killing them. Slavery is not something invented by Islam , it is there from very back, and still in some places it exists. Every slave of prophet accepted islam because they were mesmerised how beautiful and merciful islam is , the slaves never felts as slaves, as i told you earlier the slavery in islam is just like brotherhood. Even wives of the prophet had slaves. Also from today’s perspective if someone will do war against anyone they will kill the capture people cuz its very obv you can’t let them go and give them a chance to come up with better strategy to win in war. And anyone will kill the captured captives But islam said take them and enjoin them with your family and treat them like brothers. Islam is the best religion It doesn’t have any flaws.

According to the standard islamic narrative (SIN); at a young age, muhammad worked as a shepherd, later he allegedly took part, successfully with large profit for his employer, the merchant widow khadija, in two trips of trade caravans to the north. Muhammad was then entrusted with her affairs, and khadija, proposed marriage to muhammad when he was 25 years old, and she was 40? years old. Muhammad hesitated to accept because he had no money to support her. And it is not unreasonable to think that muhammad, an orphan who contracted an unequal marriage, would suffer a certain social stigmatisation. But with the help of his first wife, muhammad gained his financial independence and social security and gave him some social recognition - a turning point in his life. Two meccan verses of the quran refers directly to this time: 93:6 did he not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?, 93:7 And he found you lost and guided [you]. It seems that muhammad married a total of fifteen women, excluding four concubines. He had eleven wives at one time.

where did you even get this,in the full hadith it says when they traveled back to Makkah Safiyyah(ra) iddah or mencus had just finished and it's not that she (ra) was just beautiful,again in the Full Hadith The Prophet (saw) had no interest in safiyyah(ra) even after seeing her! It was only when a person told The Prophet (saw) she was the cheiftess of the tribe and so that's the reason The Prophet (saw) freed her and asked her if she wanted to go back to her relatives in the tribe and live them or marry him(saw) and that's when you realize her(ra) Husband literally Slapped her(ra) so your the one who is at fault here because again The Prophet (saw) had no interest even after seeing Saffiyah(ra) beauty because The Prophet (saw) only married her hoping t settle peace between the tribes.

The Qur'an uses the word Nisa when it talks about both wives and concubines, and uses the word azwaaj when it talks only about wives. It doesn't mean the same thing. No two words in the Qur'an means the same thing. But you have to actually look at how the words are used. I know we don't like the idea that people could have sex outside of marriage, but the very idea of marriage being a formalised contract was only one construct in ancient times. If you took a woman to yourself she was either your wife or your concubine, at any rate, she was your woman. That's why the Qur'an says Nisa, and not azwaaj.

A concubine is basically a girlfriend. Ma malekat aymanakum means what your oaths possess not right hands and that is someone you have a verbal agreement with. Ma malekat aymanakum means you don't have to give her dowry, alimony, or inheritance/insurance after death. The mulk Al yameen or wife must be muhsinat and It's hypocritical of Muslims say it's Haram to have a girlfriend but not have a concubine. The Quran doesn't talk much about marriage but rather about sexual relations. The word nikah means continuous sexual intercourse or sexual relations. Check Quran 4:25 which says men who cant afford the expensive sexual relations through marriage should do so through ma malekat aymanakum. The aqd or agreement is verbal via an oath.

Anyone who has doubts about authentic narrations should revisit their understanding. You cannot infer the details of prayer, Zakat, hajj and many other matters from the Quran. The Sunnah of the prophet is vital in understanding many critical matters pertaining to worship and other worldly matters. Knowing this, there are many verses in the Quran that direct the believing Muslims to follow the example of the prophet and accept his ruling which in this day and time are in the Sunnah. Another clear example of this is the first Qiblah. All Muslims know that the first Qiblah was to Jerusalem. Looking in the Quran there is no verse directing Muslims towards this Qiblah, though there is a command to change it to Makkah. Therefore the initial command was received by the prophet through inspiration of action rather than a revelation in the Quran. Considering the paramount importance of prayer in Muslim life, this shows the centrality of the Sunnah to revelation and to explaining the Quran. There are many other examples concerning dietary permissions and laws associated with marriage which are only found in the Sunnah.

You will find that early Christian communities like the Ebionites and Nazarene Christians upheld the Jewish laws including the daily prayers which were never abrogated. Indeed God created us to Worship him which is exactly what Jesus did as seen in many Bible verses such as Hebrews 5:7. Moses as well prayed daily as well as David and Soliman. These prayers had a format as revealed by God to his prophets. It was not left to everyone's whims. To know the format you had to recognize the authority of the prophet and follow his guidance. You ask if these rules were so important why are they not in the Quran. The answer is that Allah delegated the teaching of details to his messenger. This is clear in many verses including the following: 4:59) O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination.. The verse is clear in giving the messenger of Allah authority to explain the performance of rituals by example. The obedience of those charged with authority is only sequential to obedience of Allah and his messenger. Should there be a conflict then obedience of Allah and his Messenger has utmost priority.

Obeying the Prophet means first and foremost obeying Allaah, if you don't believe in Allaah, what sunna of the Prophet are you following, in any case what humans write are never reliable or trustworthy whether they're Muslims or non-Muslims, whatever people say or write down past, present or the future. As for Islamic prayers, five times a day and its direction to alMasjid alHaraam in Makka(t) it's written in the Qur'aan, nothing to worry there! And for to how to pray, yes it's recorded in the ahaadiith, narratives written later with no connection to the Prophet except hearsays, even if there's slight variation, still since they prayed five times daily since the Prophet's death, again nothing to worry! So, following the sunna it's following Allaah in the Qur'aan! Do you not see that there is a GREAT disparity between the Koran and the Bible. You cannot have it both ways. Here you have a man with wives sanctioned by Allah. From Genesis to Revelation, God sanctions one man one woman relationships. Solomon had some 700 wives but no passage in the bible sanctions that foolishness. The text shows they led him into idolatry. Jesus the son of God, loved and honored as the only Savior from sin speaks strongly on the one man, one woman relationship. If Mohammed were a prophet of God, he would not be carrying on relationships with more than one woman. I do not know why the phrase - peace be upon him is repeated after his name. You cannot transfer or send peace to a man who is dead. It is appointed unto men, once to die and after death, the judgement. So Mohammed will be judged by God and if he does not know Christ as Savior from sin, he is going to be in a lot of trouble for eternity because no sin can enter heaven. Please do not waste your time with a man who NEVER preached CHRIST. He cannot help you. Jesus Christ who died for our sins and rose again on the third day, is the only way to God. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life. NO man comes to the Father, but BY ME. John 14:6. Your eternal future will either be Heaven or Hell, depending on your relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
