Its truly impressive, now we have to consider you've also got the tone in your fingers ;-) I agree with the Delay observations. What I've been musing over for about a year now is Andy Timmons with his dual delay also. He uses no verb ,yet with the right short and longer slap it develops a certain magic. I've been able to dial it in, and it seems the experience is king with alot of this gear. DIver Down has that magic super short 90 millisecond delay that gets uber fat and Ed ventured off into the Eventide which is essentially short micro delay + detune. He mastered every piece of gear and then he runs into Don Landee and that mans engineering techniques are the same stunning level of mastery. Thanks for keeping the torch alive, its still truly fascinating after all this time. Great work !

Hi Plexidust! I have very modest talent , but I appreciate the ;). Yes, the dual delay thing is great- Luke talked about it and he likes it wayyyy better than reverb. Yes, the original eventides had that short delay built in them variable with push buttons- the eventides also fatten things up quite a bit- (dbx compressor cards?) I have one and should put it in the chain for a vid... I will actually. Don Landee is for certain the magic box we are looking for :) Thanks for watching and for the comments!! Ossie

@@ossieahsen6732 I appreciate you and the response as well, can I contact you, I have a TON of info to share. I worked for Ed in the early 80's .I even spent alot of the time on the Metro Forum, I won't divulge. But for you, I owe you. The vids you have dropped have been epic and this delay display puts it all together. I;ve got the code my friend. I had to go full circle into modeling and learning the whole Don Landee Engineering to do so. I've got it !

I always need the delay in the effects loop, I no Ed send, I just plug it in to the front of the amp. but that's not what I hear. a double delay box would be great with two volume two mix. the close slap back is a great reverb sound for back then, and the fast slap back just gives it that sound.
@ossieahsen67322 жыл бұрын
Indeed :). That is always a good recipe for good tone!!! Ossie

Sounds great. Echoplex works best to my ear after amp. Should be a hair more than min slap back setting. Truly impressive, Ossie.

Your Marshalls always sound great Ossie. Are those offset JTM45 's reissues?
@ossieahsen67322 жыл бұрын
John, No, Those are ones I made in the early 2000's when I was Blockhead Amps. I copied one original offset head back in like 1990'something .. nobody was doing that back then :). I have a few of my Blockheads in the collection :). 'Made C. 62' 64' 66 JTM45's ... C. 67' 100 watt heads.... 18 watt combos... JTM50's.... Style 1 Bluesbreakers.... 4-12 cabs.... It was a blast!!!! Is it just me or are those clams improving?? I'm wondering if the first head (1969?) is a stock superlead circuit with no cascade, 2k7/0.68uF Cathode and 4700pf volume bypass cap?
