This is because of Technology. Companies make robots which help with everyday life or to produce other things, they hold the keys to technology and therefore charge the rest of us a rent for its usage. This is why people are rallying not to let this techno-aristocracy rise because it is going to create a profoundly unequal world, the likes of which the world has never seen.

@@edencastillo4417 It's a significantly better model, and would provide a platform far more conducive to further marxist ambitions like decommodifying the majority of basic human needs. We've seen state-capitalism happen as an attempt at economic democracy and transition further left, but it has just replaced unaccountable capitalists with equally unaccountable government officials. The idea of having another go at USSR-style central planning doesn't appeal to me or pretty much anybody else. Ultra-long-term, as automation takes over, perhaps central planning will be necessary, but it will literally kill the left's chances of doing anything if we puritanically reject market socialism now when it's so needed.

@@archvaldor It just means roll off the low end (bass) frequencies. A high pass filter lets the high frequencies pass through while cutting the frequencies below it (hence the name high pass). Im sure most video editing programs have this ability. You dont need to know anything technical to do it.

Great interview! I notice that a lot of philosophers and politicians, when asked to comment on current affairs, kind of repeat the same things and not in a random order, but in a very well structured way with even the same jokes and examples that lead to a conclusion. It looks like their speach follows a narrative they have constructed and use as a base. Does anybody know if this method/way of evaluating and talking about current afairs has a specific scientific name? Is it some kind of process jurnalists or philosophers follow or just a random thing I noticed?

Zizek suggests us to hold on to our radical leftism to overcome the radical right. I was hoping him to be more radical than this. Zizek seems to lose his edge and his imagination. I would like to remind him his own words : “Utopia is not kind of a free imagination. Utopia is a matter of inner most urgency, you are forced to imagine it, it is the only way out, and this is what we need today.”

Slavoj Zizek whom I like his ideas and analysis is still cannot conceptualize the outcome of the pandemic in a Hegelian methodology of dialectics. Yes we have no proper language to express the actual reality in its wholeness. But, we can chose the term Democratic Modernity "that describes the internal and external categories of society in dialectic with Capitalist Modernity and its ideology" as a paradigm of actual global society "with its legacy and potentiality of freedom". Absolute Knowing is to reconciliate this contradiction and conceptualize it in a Hegelian sense.
