Heard one the other day 'raising awareness of slavery'. And thought I want to live in a society where slavery is impossible, not have more awareness about it. But it's as if slavery becomes the new normal, not some anathema, some evil anomaly - but something we have to be 'aware' of, another unfortunate aspect of life in the 21st century. @@Watcher863 "teraz kurwa my" was used by Kaczyński to describe a situation in Polish politics back in 1997, he described how the party he was in "AWS" treated politics (that they only want to take power and government positions and that's their whole mentality) and why he didn't decide to run for the parliament back then. So basically, he used this term to describe said political cynicism in polish politics, not to promote one. HOWEVER, Zizek is right that Kaczyński is not behaving as catholic conservative etc. should. It's just not because of this quote, but more how he called the opposition traitors in derogatory terms (zdradzieckie mordy) and said that they are murderers responsible for his brothers death (even though his brother died in Smoleńsk plane crash accident) There's more quotes of him dehumanizing people.

Yep. I couldn't agree more. Teasing out Ideological thought in ones self is a constant on going process. If you are inviting information that appeals to your existing world view and reinforcing your assumptions you go deeper down the wrong rabbit hole I think.
