I loved this show. I watched it right after yanxi palace. I cudnt get enough of her - The actress who plays Haolan here & also yingluo! She’s one of my fave chinese actresses ever. Her facial expressions, demeanor , emotions & how she pronounces words is too tier! I LOVE her. She needs to be in more shows, hopefully we get something from her again soon❤️

I kinda feel bad for Siluo. She was struggling for survive and look after her son the only way she knew how. But goddamn, I laughed at how the Dowager Empress (can't remember her name) just shoved that poison down Siluo's throat. I wanted Siluo to just shut up already, too. She did manage a pretty good parting shot, though. If Haolan had any remorse or desire to forgive Zichu, Siluo made sure that wedge between them stayed firm.

Okay yall are missing key points. None of you would stab someone who sentenced you to die. Siluo is stupid she gained skills but lacked a personality. Also Haolan beat her by time. Also zichu hated his royal mother so anyone she sent would not have had a good time. But Siluo kinda gets the last laugh here. Look at what she says it's ture they all end their lives in pain and or exile due the men in their lives. They are all truly powerless. Both huayuang and haolan are angered by her deep observations. They know she is right. But I pity siluo having to bow down to a man to find warmth who doesn't even see her. But if I were her I would have gotten out with my son ages ago and go far away.

Lubuwei even asked her if it would be worth it, since she doesn’t want power. And then in the last episode, the general reveals to the king that he was planted by his side because Haolan wanted to finally take down Lubuwei. Lubuwei is then removed from his position and leaves the city, and he sends the pearl as a sign of respect to Haolan. That’s the ending

even though I hate Siluo, and I love Haolan, I hate one thing about the history of China They put so much emphasis on the things Siluo was talking about. Learning "drawing" or "playing instruments", thinking that that's what makes a person worthy. Even nowadays asian parents are forcing children to learn the piano or something of the sort. While there's nothing wrong with that in itself, they say it's what makes a person's worth. I think that's so shallow. What should be a person's worth isn't their ability to fucking paint or make music (unless you're an artist, that's a different thing), it should be their kindness and smarts. It's true that Haolan is smart and Siluo is foolish, though

I wish my parents could afford piano or violin lessons so I will make sure my kid gets to experience it to try it at least and specially if they find it enjoyable I will support them even more. yes Asians are pushy when it comes to education but that's why you see more Asians make it to higher education, have better paying jobs and improve in wealth generation after generation. some go over board that's true as well. its good to have parents who are more involved in the kids education than not. which is why so many none Asian kids in US seem to be ignorant, uneducated, self absorbed brats that disrespect the elderly and cant seem to handle living in in the real world without getting butt hurt, emotionally unstable over stupid insignificant things while being hung up on social media for verification from strangers, likes over vanity and wokeness. so its not the learning of arts that make a person good, bad or worthy of respect. its how they are brought up by their parents, culture, environment and their own personal persona. btw I am half Asian and half European and I have lived in both worlds and currently live in the US my experience alone gives me a better view point. so stop dissing on Asians and look to ur cultural faults at first, fix them and then maybe u can dare come complain about Asian culture.
