Hi my name is Carmen Winstead. I'm 17 years old. I am very similar to you. Did I mention to you that I'm dead? A few years ago a group of girls pushed me down a sewer hole to try and embarrass me. When I didn't come back up the police came.The girl said that I had fell and everyone believed them. The police found my body in the sewer. I had a broken neck and my face was torn off. Send this message to 15 people after you listened the whole message if you value your life. A boy called David received this message. He just left and deleted it. When he was in the shower he heard laughing. My laughter. He got really scared and rushed to his phone to repost this message but he was too late. The next morning his mom entered his bedroom and all she found was a message written in his blood saying 'You will never have him back'. No one has found his body yet because he is with me. A girl called Charlotte received this message and she immediately sent it to 25 people, 10 more than required. I still watch over every second of her life to make sure that she is safe and to keep her and everyone close to her out of danger. Suddenly had a theory. The princess doesn’t seem to know their name, because the story only refers to them as “The Princess”. They also only look however the “secondary narrators” perceive them in the second chapters. This seems to set up that The Princess is, in essence, a plot device. Likely, the “world ending” is simply the end of the story - you rescue the Princess, they leave the cabin, the story (world) ends - and the Narrator wants to prevent this from ever occurring, since then he’ll cease to exist. Thus, his attempt to trap the protagonist in an eternal space cabin as an attempt at self-preservation. No idea how this theory will hold up, but it’s one I haven’t seen tossed around at all, unless there’s something I missed that very clearly disproves everything I just said. Either way, I REALLY can’t wait for the full game - this is a really unique type of Narrator vs Protagonist story!

Obviously the princess has some weird sorta powers, but the narrator clearly doesn't exist outside of our story because he doesn't remember past events, he just starts over again. So we literally are seeing his world end each time we die.

There've been a couple of comments to the effect of "the princess is good and the narrator is evil!", but I'm not sure it's quite that simple. The narrator doesn't seem to be able to perceive the transition between chapters, and he thinks that eternal stasis constitutes a "happy ending". So, when he tells you that the princess is going to end the world, he's wrong, but he isn't lying: he's telling you what he thinks is the truth (though, when he says "the world", it's quite possible that he means "the cottage and the woods"). Given that he thinks there's only one chance at this, I can see why he's unwilling to share information about the princess' nature with us: she's very good at translating our hesitation into her victory. Unlike the narrator, the princess seems to have a malleable strategy: if you attack with overwhelming force, she'll escalate. If intimidation proves effective, she'll double down on it, and so on. Does she have an objective, besides survival? I don't think we yet have enough information to be able to say, but my hunch is yes!

Honestly this game is so thought provoking to me. The narrator is obviously unreliable. Whether he knows it or not. He says that the princess leaves out information/ doesn't specify details but he hasn't either in many cases. In the beginning he doesn't even say who made it so the person you're playing HAS to slay the princess. And he tries to say you're "happy" when you kill the princess and are stuck in what is essentially the void. He'll say the princess is manipulative but he was too. But as you're playing I think the reason is because you are the one who remembers what happens and your interactions with the princess. But how the princess is perceived by you changes how the princess looks and acts. Scared of her? She acts intimidating. See her as a monster or beast? She looks like one. She her as innocent? She acts meek and sweet. And that's probably why the narrator says she's dangerous. Her form is bent by how she's perceived before you actually get to see her. I think this whole game is based on perceptions of people. And those people are the narrator and the princess. And by the second chapter/ run , based on those perceptions you get a new "voice in your head" And I don't even think the princess HAS a name. When you ask she can't give you any answer other than an honorific title. Like in this story she's just supposed to be known as "the princess" She probably knows as much as the person you're playing knows. She was locked down there, she's dangerous for some reason, and she's somehow able to remember past interactions. She probably literally doesn't know how long she's been down there. I think both the person you're playing and the princess are dangerous. How you act towards your 'quest' can literally affect everything around you. Honestly hope/can't wait for the full game to come out

The princess is a good person if you don't betray her, she is an entity princess that is made on trust, believe, and caring test, if you fail, you'll die, she can be an scp maybe but just be careful what you do to her cuz you might be on the good side, or the bead side, she is the test

Exactly. This is also why treat her like a normal girl in my first run because I found the Narrator suspicious. Meanwhile, however, I know that there must be a third person who is the true villain because if straight up kill her and then decide to enter the void, we will respawn again and with a surprised Narrator who is confused that the princess is dead, although she shouldn't be. That means, the narrator is in the end just a tool of someone who also cursed the mc and the princess to get resurrect after every time we die. I share meanwhile the theory that we will die several times while the game and get more voices with the time who influence our decisions and alter our appearance and give us new abilities.

I think that princess was originaly a plot devise and "final objective". Her "ending world" could potentially mean simply "ending story". Prinsess falls in love for hero, and the story is over. Since she's nothing more than objective, a final "accomplishment" of hero, she doest have a name. But narrator twisted premise of the story to benefit him. It's not obvious if he personaly chained her, thou. There are some plot holes in premise. Who chained her, why would she be dangerous, who brought her food.

The type of person the princess is depends on the type of person you are you can agree with villainous narrator or question the situation and agree with hero if you kill the princess you perceive her as a vengeful ghost if you help the princess you perceive her as beautiful you get different voices with set personalities depending on the person you are the princess is who you make her to be
