Fascinating! This ending really puts in perspective what would later on be revealed! Spoilers: Since TLQ "shapes" the princess and viceversa based on their perception of one another, since both died believing they were stuck together, when they reset, they are INDEED stuck together. The narrator lets it slip when he says "oh god, you believe you're stuck together" And the princess here does confirm that they were supposed to be together, either as a singular being (as they once were) or in a different way. So Narrator sneakily tries to trick TLQ to think about how being swallowed felt. This would make TLQ start to imagine the princess as something horrible and separate of themselves, which in turn would become reality. The princess notices this and tries to fight it/stop it, which is why her outburst sounds monstruous, she doesn't want to be forced to hurt TLQ after being so close together again. After the outburst she goes back to her normal voice. But the seed has been planted "a terror that gets closer the more we pay attention", "don't look at it". It's TLQ manifesting this "monster" within the princess just by thinking about the idea. If they ignore it, the terror would dissapear, but without knowing that, a normal reaction would be to check it. (A self fulfilling prophecy) If TLQ gives in and wishes to be part of the princess forever, then he becomes so. Which is good for both, but not for the Narrator, since that would make killing the princess impossible. Love this!

I just realize the movement in the infinite is a timelapse of growing grass blades! Theres so much symbolism packed into this game that i notice more and more each time i rewatch.

... you know, I recall realizing that the Princess you see in the finale is based on your first one, but I hadn't considered what would happen if you did the Stranger as your first path. Now I kind of want to see what the romantic unknown path with Stranger princess looks like.

THE NOISE AT 18:25 SCARED THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME Also the anger, pain, fear, and sheer desperation in 32:49 and that “please…stop…” are so crushing. This is how they were meant to be. And now they can’t ever be this again. The frame at 52:55 is beautiful though. It’s just Him and Her. Forever.
