I could almost understand a tinted rock though. Here, your cards flash VERY bright blue if you can still play them, and there's a very well contrasted, large, unobscured meter on the left clearly indicating your remaining energy.

Bespectacled Egg: Rare Relic Energy is not lost between turns, but for every energy left at the end of a turn you take 1 damage. Scrambled Egg: Rare Relic You can do both(2) actions at rest areas, but for every three cards in your deck, you gain 1 less HP from resting.

This is by far the best he’s played. His build/strategy isn’t perfect but it’s very good and his decision making, besides having cloak and dagger has been close to spot on. The first cloak and dagger was defensible because he got it early but the 2nd one was an error, it’s useless in this deck

I'm still watching. At around 24:30 right now. Maybe it gets better and you just totally forgot about all the bad plays in the beginning. = ) I mean also, to be fair while he's improving substantially with each episode now (by playing off camera.... if only he EVER did that with KSP), I'd still do better drunk. = D Seriously, he also lucked into this, he didn't understand that Dagger Spray + Envenom was awesome, he picked up Envenom because the card said "poison" on it somewhere.

IamI3rian ill give him more credit than that. I think he understood the synergy with those two and that’s why he’s two of them. His major deck building error is he’s still trying to focus on defense and that’s not his strength. But I’ll let you finish the vid first

Yes I agree, that is why I edited later. I do think he is getting better. I used a similar strategy as he is using right now to win the game on my first try of The Silent. (Relatively easier boss (the double donuts thing) though)

Precisely. At that point in time, 12 cards is fat, especially when you consider that he removed one card in the second room. He went from 9 to 16 in 4 rooms. That's "thin" to him. = D He's still running the whole "strictly better block (he means Defend)" because he has no idea that literally every card in the game is better than Strike/Defend... that's why you start with them.

I was DYING at that. I've been watching the series cause I'm relatively new to the game and I was hooked immediately by his fucked strategy, it's like watching a trainwreck. Way more entertaining than someone playing well imo. The point is, I tend to play with a lot of cards myself, or so I thought. The most I've ever finished with was 36, usually it's around 30. Like, dude, what do you think a thick deck is?! 😂

Incidentally, in case anyone was unaware (as NL seems to be) ASDE are hotkeys for StS. A is Draw Pile (push again to close) S is Discard Pile (etc) D is Deck (etc) E is End Turn These are wonderful keys if you're a lazy bones like me, and don't feel like ever moving the mouse. I'm sure there's more, as they improve things with each patch, but I'm playing in the beta branch, so I dunno what's live and what's not anymore.

hey northern lion, i really liked that this episode was a double, and i wouldn't mind if the format changed to this. I don't think you did it intentionally, but i feel like just 1 floor a day isn't enough and extending it to two would improve the quality of this series greatly, especially if you have been enjoying playing this.

For future reference, Snecko Eye is probably the most fun relic in the game. It's also pretty good. 50% chance for a 1 energy card to be free or unchanged, and the more expensive a card is, the more likely it is that the card is cheaper. It's a good meme too.

I disagree. Early orichalcum is great. On the second and third floors you have to throw up more than 6 block more often than not. Taking escape plan is the right choice imo. If you think he should have skipped you're overrating orichalcum (just like the egg)

Escape plan might be one of the rare cards that's always worth taking, regardless of what kinda deck you're running.

Jeah, if he had taken escape plans & blur+ he be in a good spot. With no missplays vs the Gremlin Nob he would've had enough HP to even 1 or even 2 more upgrades into the deck. With that he'd probably be pretty set for the third level. Right now his offense is neat-o, but he'll die because now he'll have to tank 20+ dmg every turn.

Absolutely right. Orichalcum exists for the turns when you don't draw blocks, but if you only have 6 block a round regularly you will lose very quickly on the second floor. Meanwhile a free card that might give you extra block is great, and plays into way more relics, since there are a lot that give you bonuses for playing more cards.

And you probably know by now, but Prepared is bad unless it's upgraded. When you draw it, its taking the place of another card, so when you use it to replace itself you still have to discard another card. Only when it's upgraded is it just a pure neutral 1 card cycle.

It's good if your deck revolves around playing lots of cards in a single turn or if you have synergies with discarding.

Nope, that's not how it works. Prepared is always a -1 card, the upgrade just allows you to dig deeper to find the solutions you want. Yes, you draw 2, but you also discard 2. Just do it step by step: You've 5 cards, you play Prep+ and during the resolution of the card you go up to 6 cards, then you discard and still end up with 4 cards in hand.

I know fully how it works, i did only put it simply. The reason 4 it was as stated above. But when its uppgraded it as u said actualt lets u dig through ure deck costing nothing wich imo makes it a good card if u rely on having a setup of power u need to play. Wich in most of my tuns atleast is the case.

Oh yeah, sure. Prepared is a staple card and i've probably included it in every deck whenever i had the chance. I mean on top of being good by itself it enables all the discard-synergies, be it Tactican/Reflexes or the myriads of relics.

mrbob15243 personally i find cloak and dagger to be one of the stronger cards for the silent. Upgraded it gives 2 shivs and 6 def, letting you easily drop all your defends from your deck and making accuracy, which is by far one of the strongest ways to win as the silent, much more powerful

mainzer45 it’s a good card in general yes but with NL’s current build it doesn’t make sense. He’ll virtually never want to spend one energy to get 6 block when he gets it for free at the end of his turn, even if you get a shiv or 2. Honestly with the build he has he’d be better off with almost zero defense cards. He’s better off finding ways of stacking weak on enemies and letting his 6 free block stopping the rest. His only problem with the current deck is that he’ll struggle against enemies with high HP who can hit like a truck

riddle with holes+ could've been so powerful with that deck, 5 attacks, each applies 2 poison plus the 4 natural damage to each attack, as well as if you jaxed up your strength, IE +2 to every single of those attacks.

I tweeted him (only today) that shop relics are mostly bad. I don't think he realizes there are different relic pools, despite even calling them trinkets in the first few episodes. Either way, I believe he's making progress towards actually keeping small, powerful decks and valuing card removal (especially Strike/Defend). In a few weeks, when he catches up to the backlog, we'll be ok I think.

If you choose not to discard Status cards, they disappear at the end of the turn. Meaning it is beneficial to keep them in your hand whenever you can rather than cycling them around to clog up your hand.

If, for example, you use this card with an entire hand of Status cards, you will be *discarding* them ... that is to say, you will be cycling them into your discard deck which will pop up again in your draw upon reshuffle. Unload is a fine card but if you're using it to clear Status cards, with the possible exception of Burn Status cards, you're using it wrong.

Dagger spray is good card, still ok in poison decks. On other hand poison stab and deadly posion are terrible and still bad in poison decks. What makes poison deck is Noxious fumes and Bouncing Flask - ideally 2 to 3 total. What drives me crazy is relying on Orichalcum with poison deck.

Kreur I agree. I was just commenting that he was taking a card while talking about how he was keeping his deck thin. Dude has a staggering 27 cards in his deck and nearly dies because he didnt invest in enough block or card draw, precisely because he's taking Poison strike and subpar cards like you said. His actual plays have been surprisingly good, considering he's alive with such a build.

Dagger Spray is a good card and Deadly Poison is "terrible"? Gonna disagree on that one. On the first floor it's kinda neat to clear out the 4-5 enemy encounters but after that it's definitly a dead card in every poison deck.

Dagger spray is so powerfull on first floor and still ok on second, lags behind on last, but its offset by earlier power, which pays of for it - good "insurance" card. Plus it have at least some minor synergy most of the time and can be used to put enemy into lethal range while still doing some collateral damage. Deadly poison on other hand just dont do enough. Sometimes you end up removing Dagger spray from deck in late game, but that does not make it bad card - once I even ended up removing Neutralize+. Glad to see NL play way better than before as Andrew mentioned.

NL I cant tell if neutralize is your best friend, or your worst enemy. I think subconsciously, you consider every card to cost 1, and every time you play neutralize, your brain cells shut down and you count 1 2 3 oh no energy. For the love of our sanity, mouse over the energy meter before you end a turn.
