I'm sure Pat learned all these Slayer songs in like a day. He's such a technical player that this was so much fun for him. He would've been the perfect fit instead of Holt. I had no idea that he'd filled in for I would guess just this show. And before he threw his entire career away he got to play with Dave on drums. I just hope Pat is ok and gets back on track

Actually Pat said he was nervous and that he only began to enjoy towards the end of the gig. But yeah, one would think that this was very easy for him, since he composes such technical songs and plays them like its nothing.

TBH he probably already knew most of em. All the cannibal guys grew up huge slayer fans. His solo style is and was a better fit slayer then Gary Holt’s style of soloing. Gary using a lot of hammy and other effects when Jeff never used. I would’ve loved to see this live 🤘🏼

Being overly technical could be a detriment. Slayer had punkish element that could easily have been lost with an overly technical approach. Luckily, Pat was musical enough to understand this.

I love Slayer and I love Cannibal Corpse. I never thought that the "who is a better guitarist" question would ever be answered. Pat clearly owns over Jeff, in terms of solos. Then again, Jeff is a normal human being. Pat appears to live only for guitar, beer, and weight lifting.

No one cares who's better. One item not to forget, Slayer influenced just about every metal band post '86. Without Slayer, Venom, an Sabbath, there may not have been Death, Possessed, or Obituary. These probably were easy for Pat to play because of his skills, but he didn't write them either. Much easier to imitate than create.
