***** Objective means factual. What factual basis do you have to make such a claim? Are the songs or musicians objectively better? How do you measure that quality? It seems to me your position is subjective - an opinion - that coincides with record sales.

For many many years now, I've become acquainted with people that knew the "Big 4", and I'd show them Exodus. 100% of the time, they were hooked from the first note they heard. Even now, the company I work for just hired a bunch of guys in their early 20's, and they're getting hooked on Exodus, as well. Don't get me wrong, I still love Slayer, but I've always been a bigger fan of Exodus. I've really come to love the stuff from Tempo of the Damned onward the best.

Are you from the same area as he is? If so, we probably know a lot of the same people. I grew up in Richmond/San Pablo, California. One day at Hilltop mall, I was at that pizza place that used to serve beer. This must have been in 1990, or 1991. I was there drinking, and had a guitar with me that I had bought from Geno earlier that day - Geno, the bassists for Blind Illusion. So I started talking to this dude that was asking about the guitar, and I mentioned that there was another one I wanted to buy, one that belonged to Gary Holt. He said, "I am Gary Holt." His uncle was there with him, and we spent a couple hours there drinking, and talking. I wonder if Gary would remember that...

Joshua Thornton Don't forget Hell Awaits, South of Heaven and Show No Mercy. I like Slayer's later output and don't think any era of Slayer outshines the other. I see the band's music as continuous, different yes, but continuous. I think DIabolus was a refreshing album while World Painted Blood show the band at its most primal since Show No Mercy.

Back in 2001 when God Hates us All tour. A buddy and I drove from Tampa to Jacksonville to see Slayer at Club 2000. Jeff, Tom, Dave and Kerry it kicked ass. The next day we where hanging out at Pat O’Briens house while Cannibal Corpse practiced. All of a sudden the Slayer bus pulls up and we do some shoots, shoot pool, Slayer plays a few songs in the garage. They are so humble. The reason they where in town is to raise money for Chuck Schuldiner past and the money went to the family. Many bands in Metal came to support a member in the Music Community who did so much

He's just so fucking cool, slayer couldnt have made a better choice, and a more respectfull one viz-a-viz Jeffs memory. I also hope everyone has also ñoticed the new direction the band has taken, a new testament if you will, which has seen them hold a torch on stage to Jeffs memory whilst taking a more relaxed technical style. Its so fucking cool seeing them kicking the shit out of the avant-gaurd of thrash, still Reigning in 2017.

Pity your songwriting was lazy this time round. Come on Kerry. You CAN do a lot better than Repentless. I've been a fan since Show No Mercy came out, and have loved 95% of the catalogue, but not this one. It's not because of Hanneman not being there, and it's not because of the mighty Holt. it's because the songwriting is tired and Tom sounds like he doesn't want to be there.

EXODUS sound alot like slayer. But better in many ways. EXODUS are wayyyy under rated. they should fucking be the hale of fame for being the best metal band out there. thank you and goodby.

Is it just me or does Tom the only one that seems like he genuine misses Jeff. Looked liked he was getting emotional talking about replacing Jeff. Im pretty sure Kerry does too but Kerry even stated that him and Jeff weren't that close.

fans would be cool if holt was writing stuff too, cus the new material is pretty boring so does it really matter? something new is cool.
