All of your killer sounding covers have inspired me to start playing metal again after almost 30 years...and man does it feel so good....aside from my virgin finger tips. Pushing thru the pain!
@rickfeith63725 жыл бұрын
Why did you stop?
@dutycalls49915 жыл бұрын
Well, my band mates either moved away or were starting to develop serious drug issues. I chose not to follow that path. One of my best friends in high school (an extremely talented metal drummer) he and I co-founded our heavy metal band "Black" back in 1988. We played lots of local and school related gigs together until we graduated high school in 1991. After graduation, we all kept in touch but the band was on the back burner due to everyone's "extra curricular" activities. A few years later, he died of drug abuse at the ripe old age of 22. Being crushed by it all, I sold all my shit and never touched another guitar for almost 3 decades. Then just this summer, I happen to stumble across Lambchopper's channel. All of sudden, nostalgia kicked me right in the freak'n nuts. I realized that I had finally come full circle. It's like I'm 17 again. RIP Shawn.

What kind of gear did ya wind up getting? I am a few years younger than you, and have been playing for 27 years now. The last 8 years have been a crazy time to be guitarded. Coming from a similar time, I know the huge pain in the ass it was to get the tones you hear on the albums. NOT ANYMORE...lol. I've had pretty good gear since I was 16, but it only sounded "right" at ear splitting levels...so thats what we did. The new modelling tech on the mid to top end is sounding phenomenal. The days of mandatory tube amps and 412 cabs are over...and its a good thing. I got 3 heads and a pair of 412s, but with a good modeller like Fractal and 1 or 2 FRFR cabs, you can literally achieve any guitar tone ever recorded. Have you checked out the Axe Fx 2 or 3? Amazingness in a box. I am a certified gear junkie, just wondering what ya got? Have a good one. Sorry about your friend, I lost 2 in the past 3 years. One to drugs, and the other took his life in March with an AR-15 that we built from scratch. We did all the machining on it and everything. I actually did most of the work, and it was done at my house. It wouldn't have existed otherwise. I had been giving him lessons. No note. No clue it was coming. We were best friends. Dumb.
@dutycalls49915 жыл бұрын
Cut from the same cloth I see. Sorry for your losses as well. I still have my 1988 Peavey studio pro 60 and my original Japan made Boss Heavy Metal Pedal. But those are collecting dust as I got Bias FX 2, a Line 6 input device and a Jackson King V. I am blown away by how easy I can get any album's tone with that program. I can't believe it is this easy now. No current need for amps, heads, etc. at the moment. If I get into another band, then I will have to gear up again. I plan to KZbin my guitar progression as this software sounds too good not to make some sort of content for others to laugh at....
@rickfeith63725 жыл бұрын
Awesome...I'll keep an eye out. I have been going back and forth between KZbin and playing my 93 ESP Custom Shop for the past 6 hours. Playing super good, and my lead tone is VERY Petrucci inspired...in stereo. I can play for 5 hours without changing that tone once. Its sick. It also has a volume pedal and does the haunted violin volume swell sound as good as I've heard. Sounds HUGE, and gives me chills. Took me over a year and a half to get this sound. Its a boosted Recto in stereo with a compressor, graphic EQ, and Japanese TS9 out front, and a H9 stereo delay and a parametric EQ in the loop through 6L6 power sections and two 412s about 12 feet apart. I was just playing the Octavarium solo from Dream Theater...I got it 99.96% accurate with all the quirks and noises and timing. It is a very vocal solo that sings...give it a whirl, its a BLAST, and will toughen your finger tips up overnight with all the bends. Glad to hear your back at it though, its the best. Would love to watch your progress. My 1 tip: Make EVERY note count, and be tough with yourself. 😜

Very nice...Seasons is such a killer record, I listened to it every night when I was going to bed in 10th and 11th grade. Tom whispering sweet nothings in my ear. RIP Jeff ya crazy bastard, the guitar community is a smaller place without you

Excellent song and cover Lambchopper. I re-did mine for this just a couple months ago and finally trying some solo's using mix of watching tab vids/lessons one day, then forgetting it all and mainly jamming it out by ear the next day... record about 30 minutes of that mess and keeping the closest one, lol... it's getting better thanks to inspiring players like you.

Hey Lambster, It's The Hechler... Thanks For All Your Help Last Time... I have been enjoying your new videos lately... especially the development of your new: "DIABOLICAL-DOPPELGANGER-/-SPLITSCREEN-MANISTIFISTATION" Guitar Cover Series!!! (I can't wait for your next episode) This Is Absolutely Perfectly Suited For Slayer, Seasons In The Abyss!!! Keep Up The Good Works!!! ...Anyway, It'S Been A While, But I'm Still Working On That “SYNTH METAL” Concept... And For Starters, I Figured That I Needed A Good Analog Poly Synth That Has At Least 6 Voices, As Well As Something With A Lot Of Flexibility And Options, So I Decided To Get A MOOG ONE, The 8 Voiced Version... (And what a beast this thing is) And I Still Got A Long Way To Go... ...Also, I Stumbled Upon This Video, And Thought You Would Get A Kick Out Of It, It'S Not Quite What I Wanna Do, But At Least It'S Inspiring, Because This Guy Took A Different Approach To Things... And It'S Called: "when you want to play solos like metallica but your russian parents wanted you to play piano" kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppKaqa2kn8mWb9k SO CHECK IT OUT... AND UNTIL NEXT TIME... REMEMBER... *IT* NEVER ENDS!!! MOST RESPECTFULLY, THE HECHLER 940 (DASH) 206 (DASH) 0531 HECHLERPRODUCTIONS (AT) GMAIL (DOT) COM

I don't know where else to write this, so... It's been a while since our guitar god came out of Olympus and blessed us with his mighty thunder that is his shredding riffs. We, mortals, knowing well that it is not our place to question his intentions or worry the well-being of a god, are quite concerned and anxious to behold his mighty work yet again. All I wanna say is I hope you are doing ok and we are looking forward to watching your next vid :)
