The M46 was worse… it was geared to work best in the turbo .. due to the extra HP to work with the Talll gears… and it had that overdrive with a hydraulic cone clutch.. actuated by this selenoid.. ( I’ve heard that rally people take out the 4th gear lockout … then the have an over drive.. of each gear.. not just forth.. which means they can keep the turbo spooled up more consistently… 👌🏻. And full on 3” exhaust helps too… no muffler … maybe a small one at the end… I can’t wait to find a project 940 turbo wagon or a 740 turbo .. prob wagon.
