Many gods of death were also gods of birth or fertility or regeneration. The Haitian Voodoo god of death, Ghede, is also the god of sex. Osiris was the judge and lord of the dead and the lord of regeneration and life. Vishnu destroys the world, and rebuilds it. You have to have death in order to have life.(J.Campbell)

The dragon is the composite of the comet and superbolide. We anthropomorphized our world's natural phenomena, so there is no 'inner dragon'. This is all Carl Jung psychological nonsense of our need of the hero, dragon, and maiden when it is the Sun, Comet, and Mother Earth. Just because it makes one feel warm and fuzzy, controlling one's evil thoughts, doesn't make it true. Look at the geological stratigraphy of the planet, there is no end of the end, cyclically.
