Muchas gracias Simon por esta explicación. Hay gente que me pregunta por estos tornos y no puedo responder, nunca he tocado un torno de esta marca. Gracias por tu honestidad!

learned on a kick wheel, graduated on a shimpo, never wanted anything else ever since.

Very good review! Indeed I have found the same problems with the one I bought. Also if you switch the rotation direction it will probably start unscrewing the main axis bolt underneath. Mine did anyway. Also mine has a obvious bent on main axis ( the one supporting the wheel head) hence the wobbly movement and the same annoying sound. I could try to fix it myself and probably it won't be too expensive/difficult to straighten the main axis and fix some other things but I don't have the proper tools to do it. This wheel can be something to begin with , considering is so cheap comparatively but I wouldn't recommend it as being reliable either.

Bought the 36cm last month because it had a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately, the wheel head is off-centered and wobbling. VEVOR's customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. Their website says 30-day no-hassle returns, but getting a new wheel has been the biggest hassle ever! Their first reply was for me to wait 3 weeks for a repair kit so that I could fix it myself. We've gone back and forth several times and each time they refuse to let me return the wheel - they keep upping the incentive to keep it. So far they're giving me $125 to keep it. Does anyone know how to fix it? I have no idea and now I'm stuck with an off-centered pottery wheel.

Have you manages to fix your wheel? I have ordered the exact same wheel and I have the same problem, the wheel head is very wobbly. I do not know what to do

It shouldn't be too difficult to make it work decently but you need to have some specific tools ( that don't come into repair kits ) and some mechanical, repairing knowledge. Knowing a lathe technician would dramatically simplify the problem since those parts would be better replaced with properly calibrated ones (The main axys with the nuts and additional bearing cases , since those are the ones responsable the wobbly movement).

Same here ! The flywheel has even a tapping noise here.Completely misformed.Badly put together as you say . Better to be a mechanic to use it !I think there are relatively good parts but its badly mounted . Thanks for the review and for your work in general master Leach ! Greetings from Belgium.

Simon my friend, Marry x-mas. I was thinking about the legs on the wheel. maybe they the company that made the wheel could make a Kit with longer wheels that could be added to the wheel. OR if someone was good at making things you could increase the height of the wheel. was just thinking. Have a good Holiday Simon. eddie.

It's interesting to hear your thoughts on these cheap Chinese wheels. I don't understand why one of these Chinese manufacturers doesn't step up quality and engineering....they'd sell well even at three times the price. If you try throwing on this wheel, it will be very valuable to hear your thoughts. Thank you Simon for your review.

Yes well see next video…my mistake using that power box, maybe gave the wrong impression, actually has enough power and does not stop when connected to 110v wall socket.

I don't think they understand the American and European consumer. A bit of qc and theyd sell them like hotcakes. They aren't far away from a perfectly serviceable machine, but then this. Oy!

Do you think the belt wheel could be adjusted by a potter to run closer to true so that the belt doesn’t see so much stress?

Yes the wobbly inner wheel could be trued up I think and then it would last longer. As I said the longevity of these wheels, difficult to know?!

Looking at 10:44 The black pulley is not coaxial with the wheel shaft. It would be interesting to remove the bolt. Perhaps the hole in the pulley is much larger than the shaft diameter. A sleeve or some shimming might help.

Its basically shoddy work. That is to be expected. I bought a electronic weight measurement tool and it does not work at all. It honestly makes one wonder how they can continue to sell shite
