think I have played this at least 20 times today. Love it, one guys sings his guts out almost giving himself an embolism, and the other old mate hits play, drinks beer enjoys the fruits of his labours previously in the studio..golden. Only just discovered them today. I'm 50 years old, first got interested in punk as a 12 year old..best thing I've seen and heard in ages.
@craigwells12019 жыл бұрын
raindogred As a 50 year old, you must have lived through, and remember a lot of music from when Punk was reasonably new, it was a fresh idea, and it was a powerful statement against the frustrations shared by the underclass. Fast forward nearly 40 years though, and the ''shouty bloke pretending to be angry'' has been absolutely done to death. That approach to creating music can no longer yield ANYTHING that hasn't already been done, or said. At best, you're just guzzling down a flat and diluted version of what was once a strong stance. Its now just a tired, well trodden path, that lazy rebels venture down when they have no new ideas. Instead of embarrassing yourself by chasing these plastic angst pretenders down their one way street to ridicule... I'd dust off your Never Mind The Bollocks LP, and give that a spin. An example of when speaking out was daring and had the balls to carry it

raindogred I discovered them last Saturday on the BBC Glastonbury coverage. Best stuff I've heard in ages, great tunes. Tickets bought for gig in Brighton.
@craigwells12019 жыл бұрын
milkminotaur Look, i'll say this only once... You're showing yourself up.... Of course the Sex Pistols were Punk... I mean are you absolutely thick? Seriously are you? Is there anything going on between those ears, other than a lonely tumbleweed blowing around an empty space? There can't be, otherwise you'd have read the content of my comment, realised your own vocabulary was no match for it, and then not made yourself look like a school dropout by commenting with something that hardly makes sense! I hear the word ''cunt'' over & over & over & over (are you bored yet?) & over & over again from you Sleaford Mods fans... It puts me to sleep! Are you all brain-dead? Its as if you read a comment you don't like, and start panicking... but your intellect is limited to a point were you can't conceive any structured opinion to retort with, so you're like, ''Ahhhh, I'm feeling distressed! I can't think of what to do! What do I say when I'm not very clever, ahhhhh!'' And then in desperation you just chuck out the feeble word, ''cunt.'' Haha, you're all ridiculous with your love affaire of that word! Zzz Zzz Zzz
@craigwells12019 жыл бұрын
milkminotaur Hmm, I'm highly suspicious of those two kisses at the end of your comment. You do realise I'm another MAN don't you? This coupled with the fact that you're going to see Sleaford Mods in BRIGHTON of all places, sort of paints very pink picture of you! There will probably be a load of non too bright, middle aged skin heads at that gig... I'm not sure how acceptant they'll be of your lifestyle choices. So be careful Elton... I'd probably leave the rainbow flag at home that day, just as a precaution :)

sleaford mods is like listening to your adhd mate rant about politics at 3 am on a sunday morning after a 3 day sesh and i fuckin love it
@popmusicquiz9 жыл бұрын
How does he remember all those words? Never drops a beat, and even manages to ad lib extra bits and still keep pace with it. Makes a mockery of other band tosser singers using autocue. I can't get enough of this band. Most refreshing thing in years. Amazing.
@leehugheshughes22546 жыл бұрын
popmusicquiz totally agree my friend they are one the most unique bands I've seen in years so clever with iz word play . He sounds like Paul Weller when doing Middle men its like if he gotTourette,s nothing wrong with having Tourettes by way got friends who suffer i said fcking suffer . Jason has got to get a licence for is mouth its a spitting machine gun ... outstanding 🔫🔫💨💨💥💥

Ha! I wondered the same thing and I FINALLY found a live video where Jason W did some improv and fell out of sync with the music, where the verse and chorus ended up landing in the wrong parts. They stopped the song, said, "We're having a bit of a technical problem here!" and then re-started the song. It was fine, just a little blip that people forgot as quickly as it happened -- but to me it was proof that yes, it IS difficult to keep those longwinded rants in sync with the music live. Love these guys, so good!

Phil Morris creating a piece to look at anytime and replicating a sound live is very different but when it comes to this band it doesn't really matter to me though. With this style of music what they're doing is great. But imagine seeing the rolling stones and having them drink beer while speakers play their music
@frasermcintyre92099 жыл бұрын
I cool man i got what you ment, you weren't attackingvthe dude just saying live he has a great job sure he does shotloads for the music behind the scenes! These dudes above just took it the wrong way! Haha
@craigwells12019 жыл бұрын
Phil Morris Not quite the same thing thought is it? The Mona Lisa is a priceless piece of genius painted by one of the most inspiration minds that ever graced the planet. Sleaford Mods ''laptop productions'' on the other hand, are achievable (and indeed HAVE been achieved) by the majority of 14 year old wannabe DJs, un in the bedrooms of their parents house. If I was the creator of such easy, and lazy work... I think I'd opt with NOT touring it, if I didn't have to. Not only out of the embarrassment of having my face associated with it, but also for the reason that's clear on here. You're opening yourself up for ridicule, sniggering, and people laughing and taking the piss out of you... Don't you think he looks mentally challenged when he's stood there doing nothing, just swaying vacantly back and forth? The whole act, thankfully, will have retreated out of everyone's (except diehard fans) memory within a couple of years anyway... And not a moment too soon! Utterly talentless

now the industry is going to sponge this and make it into industrial grade pop. it's brilliant, has more in common with post-hardcore than anything else, and has clear english pedigree. but they seem ahead of the curve. what others have said I think might be true - this is the sound of disenfranchised britain. dark clouds on the horizon, might get scary soon
@GuinessOriginal8 жыл бұрын
Well said. Don't think these guys are for sponging though. Too long in the tooth. They'll do their thing and let the chips lie where they fall. Can't really see anyone in marketing influencing these in any way whatsoever. Not at all mate. Real people, real stories. Just like being in a normal boozer. Ever see the first series of shameless? That was actually pretty accurate. Like the royal family.
