David Holtzman, M.D., discusses the relationship between sleep and the development of Alzheimer’s. Holtzman’s address touches on how the metabolism of certain proteins, including beta amyloids, connects to the pathology of Alzheimer’s. His research stresses the importance of sleep in cognitive abilities.
The Oskar Fischer Lecture Series, led by The University of Texas at Austin's Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences, is a campus-wide series featuring invited scholars working at the vanguard of new ideas on the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of dementing illnesses.
