Sleep Token with the mix of science and religious metaphors....never gets old to me. The chorus talks about the things she isn't, which is an interesting way to talk about someone. She's not acid nor alkaline, black or white, day or night, perfectly misaligned. She is somewhere in the middle that Vessel can't fully define, she is a new element and he is trying to figure her out. I think you've already heard Aqua Regia, which is another great example of chemistry metaphors when talking about people or what motivates them.

And baphomet is depicted with his hands like that showing the "as above so below" which is mentioned in another of his songs too 🙌 he's a genius with wordplay.

You're spot on, this song is a total banger! I love hearing people's interpretations of what the lyrics mean, if the song is connected to the video, what the whole package means. I think neither we nor anyone else would be able to find out the "true" meanings behind any of Sleep Token's songs, however much we link them into Sleep Token lore, unless we were able to actually sit down with Vessel and say "so then. What does all this mean? Please explain Alkaline and the video that goes with it in their basest terms" (chemical pun unintended there, btw). I'd love to be able to do that but it'll sadly never happen. Instead though, I'm fairly happy to read people's definitions of them. But both this song and video are total pearlers aren't they? I love their music, personally and I've not heard a rubbish song from them.

Just a cool fact about Vessel sitting in a chair. The top fans were invited to London for a Take Me Back to Eden listening party prior to its release, although they didn’t know what it was before they arrived. When they got inside, there was a chair on the stage in front of them with a Vessel figure sat in it. When the album finished playing, the figure in the chair got up and left. They hadn’t realised it was actually him sat in the chair watching their reaction. How amazing was that?

Acid and alkaline are also chemical makeups of the human body it depends on your diet. Mine personally is alkaline which makes it hard for stomach to break down food but, it does have benefits because it's almost impossible for things like cancer to survive in an alkaline environment. I love sleep token

But he's dying to be one with her... She's basically taken over his entire thought process, and he doesn't know how to explain the connection he has with her. The “sigils” on the Sundowning album hint at alchemy. All the “chemistry” hints can also be read at hinting at alchemy. I could write a whole essay about alchemy in the songs but not the type of alchemy where you turn things into gold but more about alchemy when it comes to our emotions for example. That topic is very misunderstood but at the same time something really powerful. I've been learning this “art form” from two alchemists that I know. Whatever...and yes I am as weird as I my comment sounds 😅 She is not acid nor alkaline meaning that she is “neutral”. Alchemy is all about creating sacred neutrality. Not judging your emotions or other humans and all that. Another word is not being driven by Ego. Really like your Sleep Token videos so far 😊
