I found the band in 2018 through the Two EP, but didnt truly get into them until I heard TNDNBTG when Sundowning was releasing -- this was right around the time I began my freshman year of college. Fell in love through that track. TMBTE came out two days before my graduation commencement ceremony. I never thought I would graduate. The reprise at the end of this track took me right back through 5 years of difficult times all at once. You bet your ass I bawled my eyes out. No shame.

Listening to Euclid feels like that relief you get when you're on the verge of accepting something you couldn't at first. You held on for too long, thinking that 'something' or 'someone' is the only thing there is in this life that has value and meaning. But it's gone. But you refuse to accept it, until holding becomes heavier. So you let go. You begin to accept. Finally. Realizing that letting go will also allow that 'something' or 'someone' go somewhere else for good. Somehow acceptance tastes sweet...for a moment, at least. But here we are, finally getting into terms with everything, finally getting the Math. Hence, Euclid, the father of Geometry, a branch of Math(ematics). And for the last time, you bargain...for a token...'give me the night'...asking for a souvenir as a consolation, give me a night to dream about how everything was... please give me, sleep and that token of a sweet dreams of still having that 'something' or 'someone'.

Euclid was also a mathematician.... the father of geommetry...... symmetry as vessel mentioned in the song, run it back, running forward, a parallel........ Not to mention the way the vocals are layered at the end is the same layering style that was used in The Night Does Not Belong to God....... layering verse and chorus together.

I have listened to this song countless times and I'm still finding connections I haven't before. The song has 2 parts, like 2 parallels, that come towards the end a overlap, creating something new, from something "old". In addition if we look at Euclid's axioms they are all about equals, symmetry and "the whole is greater than the part". May or may not be their intention but that's what art is anyway, interpretation and connection.

I was reduced to a sobbing puddle the first time I heard this. There’s a lot of parallels (no pun intended) that I could make with my life and its trajectory at the time. I’d been through a lot of adversity between 2021-23 and this song came in to my life as the light was beginning to shine at the end of the tunnel. The line, “I must be someone new”, hit me like a truck. The whole trilogy has culminated in this five minute masterpiece that allows us all to feel a sense of acceptance and being able to start healing. The wounds I have are still healing from that era of my life, but I found Sleep Token in the earlier days of it and they have carried me through it all. Things always get harder before they get better. The autumn leaves metaphor that symbolises change and acceptance really solidified that idea for me. 10/10 song 15/10 album. 🤘🏻🖤 Great reaction! 👍🏻

This is such a devastatingly gorgeous song and you feel it in your bones don't you? I think it really makes a difference that Vessel uses the word "Autumn" instead of "Fall" (so glad they're an English band not using Americanisms) and there's so much desperation in that phrase "It's still the Autumn leaves/Those ancient canopies/That we used to lay beneath" that it feels like wanting to relive that act of lying under trees in the Autumn as the leaves fall and it all feels so damned special and emotionally charged. You really can't help but live a memory of the actions, even if it's not something you've done you can still imagine what it would be like. The whole track to me feels like an ending that doesn't want to be one, even though the album had to be brought to a conclusion somehow. I don't know if Vessel could have gone on and written another ten, fifteen tracks and made a double album as a result - we never will know, I suppose - but it's sort of nice to consider that possibility. We're all here to worship. We're all here to partake of the offerings on the table. We're all here to sigh and shed a tear that this particular phase has come to an end, but also to look forward at what might be to come and live in the hope that we won't have to wait for too long. Thank you for this review, Adam.

I'm not a Sleep Token expert but to me this is Vessel letting Sleep go. When he sings to Sleep in past songs there's a degree of clawing and desperation which seems to release in Euclid. He's acklowleding what he had with Sleep and that he loves him but he can't continue.

And this song literally filled me with hope, supposed to get married next year. And we Are opposites, not sure its anything other than convience, the song is also about 2 paralells never finding the path to come together. Yeah all over the place, but romance is there , just not here...
