To me, the depth markers and time markers are symbolizing the protagonist sinking further and further into his depression. There are a lot of things in this album that suggest this was cause by someone, such as a significant other gone bitter. Slowly and slowly the album pushes the narrative, the first song, him starting to be sad. The second, meeting someone that mesmerizes him, then in the third wanting and promising that person they will be his. We then continue to song 4 which gives off 2 vibes. 1 being a fight between the significant other or 2, sexual. Song 5, lyrically at least, seems to point to after whatever fight they had as friends in song 4, that they have a bit of a falling out, and he is saying he is still there and full of the love the other person is looking for. I know how hard it can be from experience to watch someone you adore tear themselves up by being with people that only hurt them, hence the line "Too many swallowed keys will make you bleed internally someday". Moving on to track 6, we are greeted with intimate vocals asking and pleading for the person to fall for them. Song 7 is sort of a love letter to this mystery person, saying they love them and all of their imperfections. On track 8, he seems to start to accept he isn't getting this person to be with him saying she is "Something much more than I could ask for" and saying "it is too late for me". Song 9 seems to be as the title suggests, a descent back into the depression, focusing on it more than the girl, while she seems to finally have latched on, or had another falling out with one of her partners, hence the line "You come crawling back to me". He also starts to lose the love for this person and become bitter towards them in this song, shown in the line "My lovе withers and chokes in perfеct awe". Song 10 finally the two get together. It took them this long and he feels as though he loves more than anything. This is proven by "And I know as you collapse into me This is the start of something". He was right. This is the start of the end. Song 11 shows that as much as he fought for this relationship and finally got what he wanted, it may not be everything its cracked up to be. Its not that she doesn't want to be with him but as he states here, "And I know you still bear the weight of your own existence And you'll never bear the weight of two," she isn't ready because she has issues of her own. This breaks him, having worked so hard for this person. You can hear the hurt and emotion in his voice when he screams "I can't hold myself together" in the breakdown. And finally we arrive at the last song. After she leaves, he feels regret and longing like he is missing a part of him. Ergo "Missing Limbs". She again, is with another person. One that seemingly does what he couldn't for her. Ending the song with a rather heart-wrenching chorus: "Cause it still makes my blood run cold To remember what I did before The stories that you never told to me And it still makes my blood run thin To remember what you are to him And I'll live like I've got missing limbs For you" Thats just my take on the album. It seems to make sense at least to me and I connect with this album insanely because this heavily connects back to someone I fell in love with. From start to finish its like a perfect reminder of that time. And how I still feel to this day. With that said, Id love to hear your take on it!

I think that because each song, is descending deeper in the ocean. "This Place will become your tomb" so Vessel or whomever is slowly dying as they descend to the bottom. Having 'Missing Limbs' being the Marianas Trench. Thus, I think the end of the song just supposed to indicate a really uncomfortable feeling of finally dying. Just static and noise, to the point of silence
