He’s referencing a moth to a flame, like they are in nature. A funeral pyre is a stack of wood used to burn a body. It’s a metaphor for being addicted to something that is causing him harm and will eventually become his demise. Could be a toxic relationship, drugs, etc.

found this band a month ago. It's all I have listened to. All of their songs, on repeat, all day. I dream and I hear it, I shower and hear it, I drive and I hear it. Some might call it an addiction but I just can't bring myself to listen to anything but them. There's something about his voice, the lyrics, the slow build up turned to dramatic drops and rifts. The changes in every song and how no one song is like the other. They are unpredictable in such a mind-shattering way. I am neurodivergent and I don't know if that plays a part in why I am so fixated on listening to them.. I just can't bring to words how this music makes me feel. If I were to try I would say, I literally feel like I'm ascending whenever I hear it. They are absolutely incredible. I DREAM of being able to someday see them live.
