This is single-handedly the best mashup I've ever heard of their entire catalogue, and how fitting right? The piquing start of an emotional journey, combined with the mixed feelings of closure and hopefulness and hopelessness. I had first found Sleep Token through ironically, "Sundowning", "The Night Does Not Belong to God". Unbeknownst to me, I would find them a few months before some horribly bittersweet huge changes were about to make it's way into my life. For me, at the time it all happened so fast. Looking back at it now, time was really slow moving, everything in my life felt different, whether that's the universe foreshadowing future events or it's the melancholy I had felt at the time, something changed when I had found Sleep Token. I had adopted a calico cat, a handful of months before I found ST, one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen or owned. I loved her like I loved a child, unconditionally and nothing but care. I remember some profound memories I had of her, tough times raising her, and the good times. "The whites of your eyes, turn black in the low light", makes me think of how she would get the zoomies like every cat, and their pupils dilate. "In turning divine, we tangle endlessly. Like lovers entwined, I know for the last time. You will not be mine, so give me the night. The night. The night". Little did I know, the lyrics I had been repeating, in my car, in my room, at work, would have such a heart-gripping meaning just a few months later, in the most beautiful and soul-crushing way. At this point, I had my cat for around half a year I'd say. I lived with other people, family mainly. One day, she had somehow gotten out of my room and out of the house. I didn't live around nature or woods or anything like that, actually lived in a small town. So when I had found out at work that she had gotten out, I was worried, but not panicking just yet. I had hope she would find her way back home, so when I got home from work around 10 PM, I spent 2 hours calling her name. No luck, so I tried the next day. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned to 2 months. I even remember going to staples to print out flyers and stapling the flyers around the town I lived in on wooden wire poles, hoping and praying she'd come back. At that point, I was losing hope and started to accept the fact that she isn't coming back. One day, I can still remember it to this day, I'm almost breaking down just writing this. I get a call from my Dad that they had found her, and to come home. The night before, I had stayed over my cousins house just to get away from everything, my cousin's house is more so in the mountains and is around an hour away. So I left early, and got home as soon as I could. My Dad tells me they found her, but.......Dead. He said my grandpa had found her chest caved in, still alive, probably got mangled by a coyote or a dog, but obviously dying. She died 15 minutes before I got there. He said my grandpa had buried her already. At first I didn't have any visible reaction, but inside, I felt so many things I couldn't describe. Hatred, anger, sadness, despair, sorrow, disdain. I just left, and went to where he buried her. I stood over it, saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I wasn't here to save you, I'm sorry I wasn't here to comfort you while you passed, I'm sorry" over and over and over again. At this point I was sobbing and just broken. I was angry because I didn't even get to say good bye or see her again before she passed. My Dad and grandpa said they buried her for me, so I wouldn't have to see her like that, and I get it. They were just looking out for me, but I can't help but feel angry because I wanted to see her, not only that, but for closure. In any case, I was broken for weeks, months. What got me through was Sleep Token, their lyrics, their songs, Vessel, it all just resonated with me, and came at the right time in my life. Just a few months later, I had moved out and got a place with my girlfriend. I was trying to move out months before, but it wasn't the right time as things wouldn't line up with job opportunities to where I was moving to. Only after I had lost a major part of my life, was I able to move out. Isn't that funny how life works? The universe, God, whatever, giveth, they taketh away. Sitting here now just looking back gives me such a weirdly cathartic feeling, it's hard to explain. I had something I cared for taken away from me, in exchange for Sleep Token and my own place. "In turning divine, we tangle endlessly. Like lovers entwined, I know for the last time. You will not be mine, so give me the night. The night. The night". The first sentence brings me back to her death, she's turned to divinity, and I tangle with her endlessly in my mind as I will never forget her. She was one of the many loves in my life entwined with it, and weirdly I'd truly realize that once I lost her. She isn't mine anymore, and the night before she got out, I remember lying with her in bed, caressing her fur and feeling her purrs in my heart. I am grateful I had the last night with her. Whenever I listen to Euclid and TNDNBTG now, I never fail to cry. Even more so with this mashup, and for me might be better than the original of the both. I think about all of this when I listen to these songs. You never know what you have until it's gone couldn't be more true. So, this is my experience with Sleep Token and how they entered my life, I could go even more in depth about Euclid, but my post would be twice as long lol so I'm going to leave it here. Such a beautiful mashup and one I will have on repeat and repeatedly cry to. Thank you for making this, it's truly something special. A bittersweet ending to an Arc of a time in my life. Worship.

Well, as I’ve mentioned in a few other comments, I won’t say that I’m happy this small effort of mine caused you to cry, but I hope it gave you a positive feeling. Life is hard enough as it is. The last thing I ever want to do is make someone cry. But I’m glad you enjoyed it, if you did. I hope your days feel brighter and better.

@@ianguitarist4 they're good tears. Euclid alone always feels healing to me. And that's what causes the emotions for me. I very much enjoy this video. I watch it probably at least once a day

Truthfully, I appreciate any and all views. I’m just happy people are enjoying my small contribution to the incredible music of Sleep Token. These two songs are phenomenal and I just want to do them, the band, and my fellow fans justice with this edit. Thank you for listening and enjoying the song. I truly appreciate it.

Haha. Well, I apologize for making you cry, but I'm happy you enjoyed it. I really debated hard on including the Euclid outro as my ending, but after putting the rest of my more complicated ideas together and coming back to the end, I just couldn't come up with a better ending. I tried to make it distinct by fading out the vocals over top of the isolated instrumentals, giving them a more ethereal presence, but I'm not sure how successful I was. That said, that section is the absolute crux of this mashup, and exploring how the similar parts from each song blends and contrasts was the motivation for even working on this mashup. So, I feel it is a pretty fitting end, all things considered.

@ianguitarist4 yes I love that part of both of those songs

I've not stopped listening to this for almost 2 weeks now it's so good. I wanted to ask tho, I would love to develop a full cover of this mash up, and wanted to get your permission? This could end up going nowhere but if I did I would credit this mashup and link it everywhere I could. Regardless, thank you for this incredible little mashup
