Definitely remember the nightmarish 2-3 shift in every VW I've ever driven seeing this one. Both are cool builds, but I'd probably take the van. It's just so unexpected that it definitely adds to the cool factor.

I am from a country where cars are driven from left side. This is the most natural position for a manual car, 1st 2nd and 3rd are near you and you change gears with your natural hand, right hand. I think this is a disadvantage for right handed people in UK. To change gears with left hand and from far away to near you, seems like a hell to me.

The Golf being that low on its suspension makes it look like an audio exhibition car with all cavities concreted-filled. Many years ago I saw a Golf GTI looking that slammed at a sound-off - apparently it weighed 3tons and had to be trailered to the event because it couldn't move under its own power. Quite loud, at least.

Great comparison. The 100-200 km/h times seem to be to high for 500 bhp. I would say they are as for 430-450 bhp.

Vans 100% this power. It's tuned on our Dyno and I've got the graphs for it here if anyone wants to see. It's a very laggy turbo, and upto 3.5k rpm it makes 80BHP 😂. The red line is set a little low at 7800RPM resulting on it shifting out of boost. This combined with the poor shifting from Jake meant that the turbo had to respool between every gear change
