As a car guy, and an Mt-10 rider myself, I loved seeing this race. If the Audi was figured out, the roll races would have been a lot tighter (Audi probably taking one win, and right on the tail of the bike for two), and the drags would have been audi for all three. Hopefully, we get to see this race again, with the Audi dialed in, and the r1 on different tires.

Tyres are insignificant for the bike it's limited by wheelies not traction, could go way quicker if it wasn't trying to lift the front end constantly.

The acceleration in a drag race for that R1 is not grip limited, at no stage will that bike want to spin up the rear wheel on dry, clean tarmac over wanting to wheelie. If anything the Road 6 is better for a drag race since it warms up quickly after a run or 2 and also has lower rolling resistance compared to a sticky track tyre.

Shame my car had a poor show but hey ho it needed testing FYI I had no closed loop tuning before this day and had to make a couple changes the week running up to this….as you can all see it wasn’t running right but when I worked around some issues it flew……loads more to come and I’ll be back with it right and probably a bit more power!

Bikes are mad fast and props have to be given for putting down that power and times on a credit cards width contact patch of rubber on one wheel. Both were amazing and I look forward to seeing the audi after it works all the kinks out. Kudos to both pilots and their amazing rides!

The Syvecs really does well getting it off the line, that clean launch was perfect. Small amount of wheel spin from the front wheels when the weight transfers then just grip and off 🤌

BOTH were rapid...but when that A3 loaded up right and hooked up off the line (on street tyres) that was mind blowing. Gapping that R1 like that was shocking. I would LOVE to see that car back with all the kinks ironed out (and still dirty to keep that Rat / Sleeper vibe). Ahh man I love this stuff

The R1 even with the mods is one of the slowest bikes on the market. It's slower with the mods than a stock RSV4, Ducati V4, S1000RR, CBR1000RRR, probably others. I have ridden two modified R1s of that age and they're small and pretty light but they don't perform like they feel. Also, Road6 tires are a touring bike tire, lol

Still in wsbk Yamaha wins most of the time . Honda and bmw both are shit in wsbk . Only having more horsepower means nothing . The r1 is more agile and it's meant for the tracks . Only the v4r is a better tool currently.

@@10daysAgo WSBK bikes are just barely based on production bikes at all. I wouldn't take a lot from that. Yamaha has done well but it's mostly the talent that they've found more than the bikes. I have a Pro friend who has a list of mods on his R1 that is just obscene to compete with the ZX10R and S1000RR here in Canada, and as good as he and the bike are, they still rarely do well in the national invitationals.

Honestly bikes are a great entry into hyper performance. For less than £5k ur into some serious bikes, but you have to be a sensible person to stay safe on a bike !

It's the same as driving a fast car hard really. There's no question the bike will always be more risky but driving a fast car hard is also a very dangerous activity, sometimes made more dangerous by the false sense of security of sitting in a metal box with airbags.

@@BEYTEKwe didn’t do any closed loop tuning at all before this and after we made a change torque increased so the TCU got all confused so the only way I could get a run was to short shift by 1k rpm…..and it went fast still 😳

That said, defo some tuning issues and when he got the formula right and it played ball, he handed it to the R1 in that second drag! Bikes will always be slower from a dig then a car because a bike cant be launched the way a car launches . The real place where the bike shines are the roll races and we saw the r1 decimating the a3

@@Mr_OoOsH jack is on the heavy side due to whcih the power to weight ratio was off . Had it been a 60,70 kg rider on the bike he would have gapped u even more on the roll . Drag no questions asked ur gonna do him everysingle time . If jack switches up for a lighter rider with the same experience i reckon hes gonna do u again even after u get ur tune all fixed up because the bikes power to weight ratio is wuite better then ur car

Very interesting. The audi appeared seriously traction limited on the roll race where the bike was peak efficiency and deployed full power snd beat him. Then in the standing start the bike was well tricky to safely get going on that surface and the one good launch on the Audi deployed much more power to the runway and he was untouchable. Such a variety of things going on with this comparison between these two motors on this particular surface as it appears dusty and challenging for grip. Great stuff.
