While camping in northern Michigan, I solo climbed the famous Sleeping Bear Dune. The sun was hot. The sand was loose. Sweat was dripping down my face. For every step forward I slid half a step back. I jogged down the dune in approximately 4 minutes, and I climbed back up in under 22 minutes.

I climbed it! It’s so fun to skip/foot surf down but holy crap that climb back up took me 30+ minutes. My phone fell out of my pocket (thankfully near the top) and some kid found it. I was like “omg kid you’re the best human ever thank youuuuu” so if you were a kid in like 2013 and found that random person’s phone? It was me who lost it lol!

Thanks. You have one of the only well made videos of this climb. But why didn't you go for a swim before heading back up? It's such nice water.

The main Sleeping Bear dune is up only and is not close to the lake. I hiked to this spot and did the climb. Tough but I was an in shape 40. I climb back up on my hands and knees and take all day rather than pay $3k.

I can understand people being afraid of this dune but if u a bit fit u can get to the top with no problem, great place to excercise fr i enjoyed everything about it. The sign makes people scared but it realy isnt so dangerous with enough brakes u can make it and bringing water helps allot.
