Last time I slept in my car it was -10°C outside. Now I wanted to do the same in a Tesla to see if the electric heater keeps me warm.

Great little adventure . Thanks for posting, Joel. Yesterday bought a new 2023 Model 3 for $28k with Elon's price drop and all the govt incentives. Now.. your video has me scanning Amazon for a mattress, small gas coffee stove and Tesla camping gear. 8/21/2023 6mo later update: Anyone thinking of winter EV camping should Strongly consider buying a Model Y AWD LR version with the extra interior space and reserve battery capacity. You can easily get lost on Oregon's extensive dirt logging, fire and forest access roads. Reserve battery capacity can be a Lifesaver.. esp with Oregon's freak early and late snowstorms and thousands of miles of remote back roads with no cell phone connection. Sleeping in the M3 is very confined for even one adult.. esp if you are bringing provisions, any gear or a dog. With (2) adults.. you will be common law married and divorced by morning. I (and GF) Love my M3... but as soon as I meet the 2 years required by incentives, I am trading up to AWD, LR, Roomy Model Y. Best wishes from the snowy mountains of Oregon !

I love Oregon! My mom and I were planning on moving there! I rented my dream car a Model Y Performance, and I fell in love with the luxury and the power.😮 I hope to buy either a Model 3 long range with full self driving or a Model Y long range with full self driving. I think Model Y will be better for longer road trips. 😊

Isn't 23°C too high? At home, I set the thermostat to 19.5° during the night. I think using some insulation pads on the windows would help saving more energy too.

Waycool. Manslaughter is worse than sleeping in your car and I got tired a lot in Long Beach working for Uber and Airbnb were always taken. Because of Uber eats and Lyft. I didn't even wanna touch a gas pump the next day before my shifts so i'd have my car washed, gased up at night. Then shower and hygiene again the next day and off to work. People think it's unsanitary but I’m big on cross contamination so if you're like me and it's a god blessing to be free and driving your favorite cars. Your will power can help you learn the easy way. I easily made $300 a night driving for Uber and Lyft but the freedom went to my head then it was like I didn't deserve the money. I prayed that it would get better. I spent money on car deep cleanings not just shampoo every week, used fabric sanitizer. Seen $100 tips from each rider before. The long hard hours didn’t last long, getting dreadfully tired was the illuminati’s nice way of saying stop that and I came to believe it should be a temporary thing and not something you get used to. Planet Fitness had an amazing atmosphere for when I’m on the wrong side of town. I swear it’s not worth it to drive tired as much as drinking and driving so I’m not ashamed of this adventure. Wasting gas and clean air was a big no for me. I said that I couldn’t do that to kids walking passed me. I had a heavy blanket that allowed me to never need my car on so my minpin and I could be safe and warm. If I could redo all of everything I had already experienced one different way. An electric car would of let me sleep in my car during the hot summer until 5 pm so I could work till 5 am without side tracking and getting tired too early so I thought a 400 mile range has to be better than a simple 250 common electric.

Nah that seems like a bad idea to have an electric vehicle for camping. It's fine if you're near urban areas but out in the wild. One miscalculation and you're stranded.
@JoelEggimann

I guess it depends on where you're going into the wild. I definitely would drive an EV trough the Australian desert 😅
