I’ve never used a sleep pad. I usually do my camping in the fall and winter because I don’t use a tent and I hate bugs. Typically I will put down a waxed canvas ground sheet and then a couple folded wool blankets under a tarp. Smart move saving for purchases rather than just plunking down a credit card. Stay blessed brotha!!

Hi Matt, I'm looking forward trying cold weather camping and eventually some tarp camping just dont think I'd sleep well or comfortable without sleep pad. Yeah I have to save up to get this stuff and want to find good quality gear even if it takes awhile to save up to get. Thanks for watching Brotha take care.

I've been looking for a review by a bigger guy like myself, im 240lbs with broad shoulders, its not easy finding the right sleeping set up, I like a roomy sleeping bag, 90cm width minimum in winter, and a 100cm in summer, im using the trekolgy ul140 at the moment, but this unigear camfy is getting good reviews. 👍

Thank good to hear, mine still holding up strong. The last time I used was November 2022 camping in a,canvas tent the temp dropped to 8° this sleep pad kept me off the floor of my tent I was sleeping in the Nemo Disco Men sleeping bag on this pad wearing only socks, long johns, and t-shirt, and beanie on my head stayed nice and toasty all night, it very rarely gets that cold that time of year but was prepared it was a good test. I'm saving up for a higher R valued sleep pad maybe the thermarest and its pricey. Thanks for the comment appreciate it.

Thanks for watching Michael, no when I get laid down on this sleep pad i never did bottom out and was very comfortable, for me it took a little while to get used to sleeping on it just because I'd never slept on one before. I used this sleep pad 11 times last summer it was alot better than just sleeping on the floor if my tent. It's not an insulated pad so personally i didn't use it i colder temperatures for the money i think is a great sleep pad for warmer weather camping. Jeremy from the channel Lone Wolf 902 has an awsome review video on sleeping pads, that's why I went with this one. Thanks again take care.

UNIGEAR - Camfy P3 Air Sleeping Pad - Large: 2.1lbs / 1kg R-value 2 - No lower then 40F - $50.00 When it comes to sleeping pads many things come into play. For example how heavy the pad is and how low can you go in temperature. This is a great pad for summer and maybe fall depending on if you are a hot or cold sleeper. The sleeping pad I run is a Nemo Tensor Ultralight Sleeping Pad weight: 1 lb 3 oz 10F to 20F -$175.00 You will find most of your heat will be lost in the sleeping pad. Does not matter if you hammock camp or tent camp, your heat is sucked out by the ground. This is why some sleeping pads cost a lot more than others. As you can see in this comparison you save on weight and can go down in temperature. But the cost goes up. Now if you toss another pad under that pad, for example, Therm-a-Rest RidgeRest Classic Foam which is $30.00 you can raise the R-value but you are adding more weight to the pack. Sometimes it's better to save up longer and just buy a pad with a higher R-value if you plan to camp in the winter. ===MOLD=== Yes, it is true if you use your breath to blow up your pad you will get mildew and mold in them being it has no way to dry out. You should never use your mouth to blow it up. Also picking up one of those automated battery items to blow it up is heavy like a pound. However, you look into a GIGA Pump 2.0 Electric Portable Air Pump and there is more out there it only weighs 2.8 ounces Personally, I would rather use the bag for inflating my Nemo simply because of the weight factor. Ounces = Pounds = Pain. Love the review can't wait to see you out using it in the field. Have fun.

I completely agree with you, iv been usein this pad not only budget friendly but very comfortable, i know I'm goin to need insulation when the temps drop and will test this one early fall. I know there, are big people like me that may have some back and neck issues like me that are skeptical if these sleep pads will hold up and this one does. Thanks for the knowledge and info on this, I'd love your opinion on colder weather one person tents that dont break the bank and backpacking sleeping bags iv been looking at the Nemo spoon style bags I don't think I'd like or be comfortable in the mummy style bags. The thermarest pad is next on my list but still getting a compact air pump lol.
