Thank you for a complete review. I had my Purple 2 delivered this week. By the way, Purple now delivers the New Mattresses rolled up and compressed like the Original, even if using White Glove delivery guys instead of shipping FedEx. So far, the mattress feels great and my chiropractor says it does take time (2 weeks at least) for your spine to adjust to the bed as now you're sleeping without pressure points. I love how I feel the bounce of the coils and how I sleep ON the mattress and not IN the mattress, as I've done with my expensive memory foam mattress for the past 10 years.

Is the purple 2 good for side sleepers?
@mightyjoeyoung97415 жыл бұрын
I'm 6'8" and 300 pounds with a broad and dense athletic build. I mainly sleep on my stomach on firmer mattresses, but occasionally sleep on my side and get some discomfort when I do. Also softer mattresses tend to not have enough support and feel comfortable at first, but I wake up with my back not feeling too great. I'm currently debating between the purple 3 and 4 in a Cali King size. It's almost $800 cheaper for the 3 in cali, but this is a big investment and I want to make the right choice. The 100 pound ball test was interesting giving 6-6.5 inches between the 3 and 4, and I was wondering how big of a difference that would make for side sleeping, but also how much I would compromise on stomach sleeping. I kind of want the best of both worlds here. I'd say I prioritize stomach sleeping, but I don't want any discomfort and want alignment on side sleeping as well. I might go with the 3, but I wanted to know what you'd recommend.

@wixman6664 жыл бұрын
I recently had opportunity to go feel them all, since Mattress Firm here in CA has all of them available to try out in person. Something that I really noticed was that the #3 felt WEIRD, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. The Original and 2 were similar, the 3 was.. just odd, and the 4 was AMAZING. Getting all my ducks in a row now because that's the one I'm going to order. I'm 6' and 170#, so I'm not heavy by any means. My wife is 5' 135#, so literally almost exactly your same size, and she liked the 4 best, then the 2. She, also, thought the 3 felt strange. We preferred the 4, then 2, then Original due to the edge support feel. I would absolutely NEVER buy the 3. If I were you, I'd call Purple and get the 4 or 2 instead. You'll be much, much happier based on soft/firm what you want.

All of our testers found the Purple 3 to have a medium firmness to it. Because of the polymer smart grid it does pretty well adapting to all positions. Hey Logan, I'm about to need a new mattress and on my way to the grocery store in my new city, found a mattress store. I have a partner I sleep with, but on a whim, decided to check it out by myself. I'd gotten a Leesa based on your reviews and while it was great at first, eventually led to some back aches I thought I'd gotten rid of. However, I'd had a good enough experience that I wanted to try their hybrid if it was available. It wasn't, but what they did have was the New Leesa Line. I fell in love immediately. There's a great sale, and I'm going to bring my partner and hopefully they like it. Or can at least tolerate it. I have arthritis* and not having support can render me immobile some days. So here are my concerns: We both fluctuate between 240 and 250 pounds. They are a stomach sleeper, while I sleep on my sides and back. (80/20 respectively.) Would the 3 be a good compromise. Oddly, I tend to think I like Firm best, but the saleswoman told me it was the amount of coils and not the feel that mattered most. I tried the 4 and it felt surprisingly good. However, the 2 felt pretty excellent in its own right, but if plush is better for the sides, then the 3 would probably be a good middle ground. The second is kind of random. They're selling adjustable bed frames for 50% off for memorial day. The lovely woman helping worked in sales said it would be invaluable for me and positioning. She had me try it out and I definitely felt relaxed and less tense, but I'm not sure how worth it they would be. Last is possibly the biggest thing but the least relevant to you. I am allergic to latex. Bandaids tend to hurt more than help. Have you heard of any issues from the material? Alright, I'm falling asleep on my relocation temp air mattress. Thanks for all you, your team, and site do.

We recently got the .2 bed and love it and don't find it too firm for us! We got to test all four beds at our local Mattress Firm here in Seattle The .2 is the firmest of the four types (.2, Original, .3, .4 - firmest to least firm) If you are like my wife and I, you might not need to go to the more expensive .3 or .4. Before this bed we had always slept on standard coil mattresses on the firm side. We are in our very late 50's. She is about 175 lb and I am 190 lb. My wife is a combo back and side sleeper and I am a combo stomach and side sleeper. Since we aren't used to foam or soft mattresses, we find the .2 to be heaven!

Hi, I recently tried the Tempur adapt (no coils) and Tempur adapt hybrid (with pocketed coils). I hated the hybrid version. I could noticicable feel more pressure through the foam or maybe it just didn't sink my body into the right shape. I just felt less pain relief. With regard to this do you think I would have the same problem with the pocketed springs in the new purple mattress? Should I get a original instead? How did you feel personally about pain relief between the new and old purple?
@Sleepopolis6 жыл бұрын
The hyper elastic polymer it pretty responsive on its own. I didn't feel the springs as I was on any of the New Purples, but if it's a concern I would recommend the Purple 3 or 4 to be safe. More comfort layer before the support of the pocketed coils...

Kim Johnson purple 3 is good for side sleepers purple 2 and the original are for back and stomach sleepers purple 4 is for people who want a really soft mattress

I’d recommend the 3 to combine pressure relief and support but it all depends on weight if you are to heavy the 4 will not give enough support and the 3 is cheaper the 4 twin xl is is only 200 dollars cheaper then the 3 cal king/king

I’ve watched tons of reviews on these mattresses. I’m 6’ 205 combo and my wife is 5’7” 180 back and side. I want to see and lay one of these new purples but the closest is an hour and a half away and all they have is a purple 2 to try out. Which hopefully we can get there and try. What would you recommend? I’m thinking the 3 but what differences can I expect from a 3 after testing a 2?
@Sleepopolis6 жыл бұрын
I'd say 3 as well. The 2 is a bit firmer while the 3 will be better for you when you roll onto your side.

I liked the Purple 2 but only when lying on my back. The Purple 3 was much more comfortable in all positions and that is what I purchased.

Hi, I'm 5'10" and about 230 lb. Primarily a stomach sleeper but do spend time on my back for reading. My current mattress sinks too much at the hips and feels like it folders my shoulders in on the back and out on the stomach. Spinal alignment is poor on the current mattress and it is starting to give me lower back pain. I get hot and sweat during the night at times. The hyper elastic polymer technology seems interesting and it seems like the mattress would hold up well over time, but I wonder if spinal alignment and back pain may be an issue for a somewhat heavier person. Would you recommend any of the purple mattresses for an individual like me?
@Sleepopolis6 жыл бұрын
I think the Purple 2 would be good for you to try. The firmest of the new Purples which should be good for your back/stomach sleeping and the pocketed coils really help with alignment. Also, the polymer is great for cooling. I will say though that Purple mattresses don't really feel like anything else on the market, so the feeling can be a little surprising and take some time getting used to. Give it a few weeks on the trial before making a final decision.

I feel like I can do my own reviews on mattresses as I've been in mattress stores for the last 2 months. My wife and I finally decided to get the purple, I got purple 1 and she got purple 2 , so far so good after a few nights of sleep. The adjustable bases we got with lumbar support adjustment is probably our biggest suggestion. If there was a problem but I want to express it would be the smell of the mattress, I am hoping that it does not continue to smell as it is very annoying to me. I hope it's not poisoning me by off-gassing, I don't know. Has anyone mentioned how long they have to put up with this smell?
@Sleepopolis6 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, welcome to my life... I can assure you the smell is not poison, we have heard complaints about it when it first comes out of the box but that will eventually go away. I'm not sure if you can open the windows during this time of year where you live, but if you can I would say that can help speed up the process a bit.

I want to follow up on my Comment from a week ago. After 2 weeks, I'm still waking up sore and some days worse than others. I'm taking 2 steps to test this mattress during the 100-night trial period. First, I ordered the Purple Platform Base and I'll get that next week. This will replace my current frame and 10-year old foundation that is under the Purple 2. After a couple more weeks, when I've had the mattress for about 5-6 weeks, I will then decide if the mattress is too firm and I may have to pay more to get the Purple 3 instead, which will give me more room to "sink" into the polymer. I have the pillow and seat cushion and very happy with them. Stay tuned...

@Sleepopolis6 жыл бұрын
I would probably recommend one of the new Purples for you to give you a bit more support. The P2 if you're primarily on your back. P3 since you said combo sleeper and are worried about pressure while sleeping on your side. If the price is scaring you off a bit it may be worth it to order the Original and take advantage of the trial period. Would love to hear what you end up with and what you think of them.

I would not recommend the original Purple for your weight, if you can afford a Purple 3 believe me you will appreciate the extra support.

best mattress material overall is what? I am seeing more positive reviews for latex over the rest, including purple. agree or disagree?
@Sleepopolis6 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you're looking for. Latex is great for bounce, cooling and it's a durable material. The Hyper Elastic Polymer is bouncier in my opinion, maybe doesn't sleep as cool while the grid structure of the purple is a much different feel than the solid latex pieces.

couples are looking for a mattress for sleep, but they do engage in sexual activity, as most couples will. and yet nobody seems to review whether there is enough support for it or will there be sinking. Sexual activity is the one thing couples need to consider when buying a mattress, not just sleeping.

Here’s what I saw at the store today. Original purple was trash. Felt like a bag of cotton balls. The new purple 2 was weird at first. It’s very different from the original and greatly benefits from the springs. The cell design is strange and VERY springy but it holds you VERY well. It has a memory foam effect but doesn’t try to eat you. Seems very good for adult activity in this way. If you had memory foam before you know it’s horrible for romantic nights. It is quite expensive and new so I’m curious how quickly it will break down. The cross section display was showing tears in the squares where the rubber intersects. On the other hand I tried a 5000$ mattress and purple was better in every way. I am buying one. Not a sponsored review. Just a guy with bulging vertebra looking for a bed.

God! Has foam jacked the prices of mattresses! Damn! It's hot. It causes health problems. And it breaks down. Ever since they killed the box springs and made it solid platform so the matress people can sell more mattresses. What a joke. A top mattress worked with a box springs. Thus the name. Box springs. But now we have box platforms worth about ten bucks selling for whatever you can stick the customer with. On foam my body immediately becomes hot! Foam is not metal springs. A hot body on foam. It's going to lose it's support fast. My body heat cooks the foam. Forget it.
