Intense - even the quiet made it more tension filled. Always had the feeling she was being watched. She was positively tortured.
@jiyakapurfilms
@jiyakapurfilms 5 ай бұрын
Yes she was being watched all the time by her dark side on the other side of the wall. That's why we shift perspective all the time in this film when camera moves from one room into another. This one was deliberately shot in such a way that you feel she is being constantly watched , constantly judged untill she is so vulnerable that her evil darker self manifests into reality and takes her over in the very last scene. This last scene is the final taking over of her body and soul by the evil sinister darker side of her's . Thanks a lot for watching and connecting with the soul of the film ❤️

Looking at her bed again - it looks restful. Not overly fussily made but you could relax in and that nice window view! So deceptive of the torment to follow.

@@JessicaMcGowan-bu4ls there are also smaller details thrown in here and there in this movie. If you look under the bed closely at 2:06 you will see a silhouette there which was not present before 😀 there are more such smaller subtle hints in this film here and there which I left entirely for the viewer to find out 😃

@@robertcarey45 Yes I use mix media to brainstorm ideas and also listen to music on endless loops while trying to write a story and sometimes its the music which takes me on the journey to the end of the story, unless I am shooting something like Momo or Dancing Lady then it's all on the go while shooting 😃

Finally got to watch again and I don't know where to begin. It is a quietly, tense portrayal of nightmarish agony. The light and sound is amazing in how it is used. Two questions: does she make sounds with her objects - bowl, etc to get comfort from tactile stimulation like a toddler does? It is almost like she is trying to find reality that way. The drawings - the pretty ones that look like botany and than the scary monster like ones - two different parts of herself doing them? The sad contrast - she has a nice place, nice things but her psyche is tortured. I will be watching for more. LMK please what you think of my ideas of your work. Sorry it took a long time to watch again but I have the scariest story of all - The Taxman Cometh!!! No Mercy, No Escape. So I had to get stuff done. (Sorry Mr. O'Neill but people love to rework your play title).

So what we see in the end is dark, evil oppressed side finally coming into the light. The sounds that she makes while sleepwalking is that same persona who is desperate to come out. She makes the pretty drawings first but eventually as she begins to crumble we see the paintings portray her decaying state of mind. Hope that makes sense. Do watch the latest one bird , would love to hear your thoughts :)

@@jiyakapurfilms Thanks for explaining. It does make sense. Happy to say my POV was not too askew - e.g. the sounds when sleeping. I did understand about the drawings - 2 sides of the same person. Excellent film in so many ways.

I almost feel a little sorry when I see you sitting there all alone, crying, seeing how you need time for yourself and then give it up just because of your job. Then I imagine you making all your films on your own, editing everything yourself, without any help. Then the question of how you feel outside of your films..... Well, I work as a psychologist myself and I automatically think like that. Forget it Jiya. ....A quiet, for me very sad, film.... and also a little bit too long - small criticism at the end ;-)
@jiyakapurfilms
@jiyakapurfilms 5 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for watching, I actually agree with you on the movie being a bit too long and slow and I did see that while editing but I did not want to take that out as I wanted the viewer to feel her journey, her angst, her loneliness everything as it unfolds on the screen but in the hindsight I think this was a bit too slow perhaps and not fit for this platform which shows how it has been performing so a lesson well learnt 😀😃

@@jiyakapurfilms ..Dear Jiya. No no, you shouldn't be that critical. If I may make myself important as a layman, I would say that you could have filled the lengthy stretches with more emotions or metaphors that depict her loneliness and fears. for example, with the cookie. it would have been a defining situation if she had started to cry bitterly after the cookie fell into the coffee. .... actually a triviality, but at the emotional low point of the movie character, but the moment when everything bursts out of her. Have a nice day!!
