Sleepwalkers turns 30! I remember watching it on SyFy channel back at my first house Like Nostalgia Critic said it barely made a profit and got shredded by critics Although it did become a sleeper hit of spring 1992 Wasn't based on an original story by Stephen King The mother-son relationship is very uncomfortable But I love how over the top it goes from acting to effects to unintentional laughs The main theme by Nicholas Pike and Enya is still so memorable it was even used in a Mario song Good gore scenes too My first introduction to Brian Krause, Alice Krieg, and Madchin Amick plus a string of horror cameo directors Joe Dante, Clive Barker, Tobe Hooper, and John Landis Yes the leads Tanya and Charles are in their 30s supposed to be high school students but they are appealing The movie was almost lost to obscurity but it's cool it got a deluxe blu ray release by Shout Factory

I remember seeing this in the movie theater and the scene where the sun sleeps with the mother I was like WTF when I saw it either on VHS or cable the following year they had cut that scene out the scene was disturbing but the whole movie was set around how the mother and the son have this weird close relationship and that scene of I can't say the word or I will get blocked but with that scene explains the whole dynamic relationship kind of stupid to take it out

I remember this movie. Oddly enough I wasn't scared. I was saddened by how Charles wanted to tell Tanya the truth and how he really didn't want to hurt her. I often wondered if there was another way or if they had an alternate outcome what it could have looked like. The attraction between Tanya and Charles was intense and I was so giddy when he was trying to open up to her. I was like tell her please!!
