I live in Australia and well remember ringing my partner as the whole Jan 6th thing was going down live on TV, telling her "You've got to get up and turn your TV on." The only time in my 71 years I have ever done anything like that. As an age pensioner with time on my hands I'm following all this with great interest. I. would like to question my interpretation of Trump's motive and method. My suspicion is that he is trying to create an environment where voting him in as President (even though knowingly making him Dictator for life) is the lesser of two evils. I can well see Civil War resulting if he looses. Even after a total "Bloodbath" as an election result. I mean just how different would the image of tanks surrounding the White House and/or Capitol Hill be to similar images from Vietnam in the '60's. Instead, he tossed the Mueller investigation into the trash and sat on his hands, afraid to do anything for fear of appearing to be "political" for over a year. Then, because of political pressure, he finally decided to pretend he wanted to hold Trump accountable. Meanwhile, Biden didn't replace him for not doing his job. Did I miss anything? Oh, yeah - no one was allowed to even speak Trump's name at the DOJ while Merrick Garland was doing nothing to hold him accountable.,

My Dad had fought in WWII. His parents ran the Madison Republican Party and worked as conservatives to get sufficient housing and learning institutions set up in America. My Dad drove his young family around Washington DC. He finally was a licensed attorney, had a job practicing patent law in our Capital, had our first car, and could drive us through the cherry blossoms to see the impressive National Monuments. We, children, fell in love with our country. We were there when Eisenhower came to the city for his inauguration. The horns were blaring throughout the day for our hero. Now, all the these years later, these horrible punks are calling themselves "patriots" after they have stormed the Capitol building and smeared crap on these precious walls. Worse, some of the elected officials had apparently been bribed to let them in. 45 incited the mob to riot, refused to call them off for hours, and refused to send in police and military assistance. Capitol police were able to save the elected officials, save the orderly transfer of power, but could not successfully protect themselves mentally or physically. The entire country has been picking up dog poop for decades. However, 45 is still doing it, and he has never considered picking up after himself.
