FYI for those that actually watch the real show. Ichabbie will never ever have a brother/sister relationship. That's just gross. They are attracted to each other. The writers have already laid out 'a will they won't they' path for them. They wouldn't bother doing that if they felt Ichabod and Abbie would have a sibling relationship. Nah, yall need to get ya heads right on that. It's platonic for now, however, the relationship as it stands now could easily develop into something more.

okay let me tell you something. if the writers are good at their jobs then this wouldn't be an issue. if the writers don't rely solely on a relationship then this wouldn't be an issue. if the writers are able to create the type of progression most relationships develop over an extended period of time naturally without impeding on the premise of the show then it wouldn't be a problem. when i posted this i saw how ichabod and abbie relationship could go there in a very natural and organic way. the show had all the ingrediants for that to happen anyways. the show had two perfect leads and chemistry off the charts. there wasn't anything to force because it was already there in abundance. cut to season 2 and what do we have. the exact opposite. we have all new writers and the show's storyline is all about the cranes failed marriage. it's hard enough that this relationship has been forced. it's bad enough that they don't even feel like a real believable couple on the show. it's bad enough that katrina has better screen chemistry with headless than she does her own husband. it's bad enough that the writers couldn't keep ichabod from acting like a dick towards abbie while at the same time trying to fix his broken marriage, without abbie looking like be black best friend (which is a very negative trope). so really the fans actually don't want the cranes together. and that's why the rating are falling. people checked out because the new writers didn't utilize the tools that they had at their disposal. they pissed away the amazing chemistry that tom and nicole display every week because people felt too uncomfortable with the idea that abbie could actually be in a relationship with ichabod someday. you say it's not about romance. that's true, it isn't but that hasn't stopped the season 2 narrative from making sleepy hollow all about the crane's marriage and not about the end of the world. it's not all about crane. it's about abbie too. and if their friendship is that important why is that being sidelined then. it's not just shippers that have had issues with this season. it's critics too. it's been rather overwhelming that people are irritated that they wasted away a good thing for the cranes marriage. so yes relationships can ruin a show (see rating for proof) it really don't have to be the case. not with the leads this show has.

Darla, you are brilliant! I think the Sleepy Hollow writers should hire you as a consultant. I agree with you 100%. Season 1 was the best, season 2 has been a slight disappointment. I need to see more of a positive relationship between Ichabod and Abbie and--screw those that feel uncomfortable with the possible romance of "Ichabbie".

the show is dying because it's relying solely on the cranes marriage and it's slowed the pace of the show too much. we're barely out of year one right now. which mean they're going to have to do a time jump at some point. hawely sucks, they made headless a pansy, henry's a brat and not threatening, katrina is a useless witch, reyes is no where to be seen, so is irving until it was time for him to die, and jenny's barely around. they even sideline abbie, who's suppose to be the hero of the story and all this for the cranes. see they've all but eliminated the poc on the show except for abbie. so is this the dynamic that is causing the show to die? is that what you mean because that's the reason the show sucks now. don't you read reviews. listen to podcasts. it's not just shippers getting mad about what's going on. it's critics alike. i mean if you want to just narrow in on ichabbie fine. the fate of ichabod and abbie's relationship was going to change and that's a good thing for the narrative. they needed a break. what i'm not cool with is the fact that abbie allowed things to play out without getting rightfully upset about the way she's been treated. i can tell you i wouldn't like being yelled and not applogized to. has ichabod ever said sorry. no. but irving said it when she saved him. because he was grateful for what she did. has katrina said thanks for the multiple times abbie's risked her life. no she hasn't. and if either ichabod or katrina are grateful they have a funny way of showing it. i frankly don't care anymore to have this conversation because at the end of the day ichabod and abbie were meant to be, as witness, as eventual lovers. they have the chemistry to make that happen. whether or not you agree. shows tend to pair off their leads because believe it or not it's a popular thing. just because you and a few other don't like it don't mean anything. it ultimately is what's best for the fandom. and right now the fandom don't care for how the season is playing out. and that has everything to do with how cranes have taken over. if the show dies it's because more people hated how the narrative is playing out, and from where i stand it's because they don't like the cranes.

I watched this series and loved it, but I think the relationship between Tom and Nicole was that of a deep friendship. She discovers how her and her sister fit into what is going on and he offers insight. She begins to trust him and he her, their lives are in each others hand so it would be difficult for the caring not to show. I don't necessarily think it's more than a friendship, though they are both gorgeous.

Like, im not sure if its just me, but it seems like Nicole wasn't enjoying the panel very much, same goes for the others. Like from the time the series started you can tell a lot of the characters of color had issues with the show. Their tweets and everything. Even in other interviews where Nicole talks about the show, you can see she was sort of unhappy.

I thought and still think Abbie and Andy have/had undeniable chemistry. I just wish they had explored it more. It was a lot richer and more palpable than anything with Ichabob or the actor Tom but I digress. Ugh...I just wanted more Andy and Abby. Just those two alone, with Abby owning a story not directly linked (in any way to Ichabod). I mean, dang man, Ichabod had an entire story-arch complete with a wife and son to boost his character development and Abby's stuck playing second fiddle to this dude. It sucks!

Konyak0 Disagree! Abbie had palpable chemistry with Andy. Their story should've been explored further, as there was a deeper connection between the two; and let's be honest, the only influence nature had in dictating Ichabod's characterization in this version of "Sleepy Hollow," is the character's (apparently) aesthetic appeal. Ichabod should've been a side-character, bouncing off clues from the past every so often, not take up 80% of the show's storyboard.

THEY KILLED THE SHOW! I watched and wait for every single show., every week! When they let Abby die I was so upset! Now fast forward I see they had to kill the love interest between the two! It doesn’t fit the LIBERAL POLITICAL AGENDA ‘s narrative. In other words it would show the Country as a whole supports mixed marriages. And we do. More so than ever before! Nicole’s and Tom’s union was quite appealing to all of us! I think that was great! It showed we were completing color blind! No the powers that run the election cycle for blacks against whites couldn’t have that kind of show! SO THEY KILLED IT! I couldn’t stand Icobod’s wife either! Such a good show wasted!

@Ty Awad, Amen dude!!! Glad to see I'm not alone in hoping that Ichabod & Abby remain just best friends and that Ichabod will find a way to be with his beloved Katrina forever in the end!!! Ichabod belongs with Katrina especially after everything they've both have had to endure in the name of their love!!! I hope that unlike The Mentalist that the creators & writers do not screw up the show by matching the two main characters, that for once the male & female main characters stay just pals!!!
