Secularism as a concept is a wide based term which varies geographically across the world,in Indian context the mutual respect and existence of all the religion under the territory of India is recognised by the Indian constitution which also empowers the state to involve in the religious matters to maintain the harmony and social fibre of the society,for French society their is complete separation of religion from the state apparatus which shows no interference in each other's domain which is followed due to the historical repressive stance of religion in the French society,similarly Israelis promote and protect their religion under the state apparatus and then again call themselves to be secular. So the term is relative and variable with societal context under the consideration,shows the variety of secularism model are present in the world. Cheers!

Sir, in sociology social stratification refers to differentiating groups of people on the basis of a criteria or a set of criteria and then assigning them unequal rewards like wealth, power and status ie hierarchising the differentiated layers. Social Stratification entails social hierarchy, and it is a form of social inequality. Not every difference is inequality but all inequality rests on selecting differences, marking it out and evaluating it on a scale to create a ranked order. That is why we have theories of social stratification like Marxist, Weberian and functionalist.

2021 i hoped to become a civil servant. Was in 3rd semister of my graduation. Gave 1st attempt this year (2023) And i couldn't clear it. First introduced in West to suppress the dominance of church in governance i. e to separate state from church.... And later on this concept of secularism got modified and defined differently in accordance with the need of a particular region.... For example in Indian context religion is not completely separated from State but partially like no state religion .. but it involves the interference of state in religious affairs..and different personal law boards... Marriage acts... etc.... And i don't know much in deep though... Said whatever outline i have been made to know .....And secularism is in itself a subject for beautiful debate ....

Secularism is the part of baaic structure of the constitution of India. Thus it is part of heart and soul of the constitution. According to me true essence secularism is: 1. where every religions have equal representation legally and constitutionally. 2. Where there are no special privileges to any religion, whether for the majority religion or for minority religion like halal meat. 3. No special benefits like scholarships, grant for being of a particular religion, whether majority or minority. 4. All minority religions should have equal representation and should not be overshadowed in hegemony by more populous one. And no particular monolithic stereotype for any religious group. 5. Pluralism, diversity and dualism concept must be equally respected by everyone as India is multi-racial, linguistic and religious country. 6. No religion must force its food, dress or way of life to another and there should be rule of law for the implementation of the same. But we should also see that it doesn't hurt the religious sentiments of another like in a controversial food like beef.

secularism in india means state does not recognise any particular religion . neither like pakistan which is officially an islamist nation nor china which is non-religious. In India all religions are equal and state will also pay on religious activities example haj subsidy,mansarovar yatra. Werstern secularism is the outcome of french revolution due to which religion is disjointed from state affairs.But India is magna carta of many religions,cultures which resulted in the different definition of secularism .

But the context he is speaking of define hierarchy as a Vertical-Structure,As the basic understanding of a human psychology says that if a person is situated at the top of pyramid that means he is at 'Top of the Hierarchy'. Secularism in india is different from western countries because in western countries secularism means complete separation of religion and state but in india secularism means equal recognition to all religion and country will not prefer any religion.
