Yeah I hated the regular chores with modes like squad battles, especially now that I am an adult and I have to go to work and don't have a ton of down time to grind the game. I have a newfound joy for the game and an eagerness to play the modes i want instead of dreading having to do squad battles or hut rush to earn rewards. I also love how it removes the uncertainty of what tier of rewards you've unlocked and having to wait till the end of each weekly cycle to open packs.

For all of you who don't know, the entire point of HUT is to get people to open up their wallets and buy cards. They could have had a fully functioning connected/online franchise mode that would be incredibly polished with little bugs but they don't generate extra income off that so instead they put their focus into HUT where they can get suckers to open their wallets to avoid having to grind.

I might be in the minority here, but I like the focus on casual players. I like playing Hut, but I don’t like being forced to play a certain game mode for hours just to get decent rewards. Some of you gremlins play the game non-stop and make getting acceptable rewards impossible for working adults. I am not advocating for bad rewards like the first week has been… but I like the direction.

Casual players will only be able to use a tiny portion of the content if the rewards are not drastically better or the costs drastically lower, or both. I like the change in how you get rewards in that you don't have to play 37 games in squad battles to get max rewards, but depending on how hard it is to get similar awards with the xp path, it could end up being worse. If you play 37 games and get less rewards in the new game then this change is absolute dogshit.

Wrong I’ve spend nothing on the game it’s working the market honestly if your willing to spend two or three of you’re “playing” days on market grinding you could be like me and what I’ve done and work the market and build nearly every icon for gretz and almost over half the xfactors to build one of the better xfactors it’s all in the want for certain players you definitely don’t need the best this year if you have skill and can handle the new flow of the game you’ll wax most guys with the team I have or better you’ll say I’ve spent too much or some shit but I’ve only used the 4600 pre order points but if played guys that have gretz already have kuch and nylanders xfactor and waxed them with the base starter team it’s all in skill or if you have time to work the market now days you used to be able to play your min 10 games a week and champs and still have a team full of studs but unfortunately that’s not the case anymore

Pulled a icon henrick lundquist to start the game, they ended up getting rid of the card and I lost my goalie but they gave me a 1-10 tradeable power up icon choice pack and a 82 Dominick Hasek for free, was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Started up a rivals battle and had me play as all the canucks, was such a wierd glitch but 85k free in my pocket for a 82 untradeable goalie. No complaints. I'm sure other people that pulled lundquist got this too

EA didn't earn a pre-order from me. The way they had my grind to get a TotY Tkachuk that was barely usable because of speed until after the Stanley Cup was awarded was unforgiveable. He spent most of his time on my 3rd line because of his lack of speed. The way they lured me into voting for TotS cards that I couldn't even make from scratch was a dirty trick and I won't be giving them any extra money for packs or early access. I am not interested in all their digital goodies that will be obsolete in a month. The fact that so many people can't just hold off until after launch to buy the game says a lot about the mass psychosis at play here.

They should make that experience path weekly and use the experience as your way to get packs. Lets say for example someone has 50k experience have a set price for Ultimate Choice maybe 10k Ultimate pack 8k Jumbo Elite players pack 6k and down the line you can pick your rewards off of that. If you want more packs to open you can choose the cheaper options or vice versa. The players who can play more will get rewarded more but it gives you a reason to grind.

In Sweden the game released friday 6 pm, on saturday night I had finish everything to do, xp-path, wildcards, all moments, hockey is family, training camp, powerup and x-factor milestones. If I had known I wouldnt preorder the game, instead get the 10hr of early access from EA-play instead, then I would have the option to not buy the game if the rewards don’t get ten times better on friday, who cares for grinding f***ing bronze cards with no value at all?

I really hope the xp-path will be rewarding because it replace both SB and rivals rewards and we should expect to get atleast simular rewards when grinding out xp-path as we got from the rewards they took away. It's good they are trying something different and not the same bland formula. However, they need to take a look at the hard lessons learned from the MLB team this year. If the formula sucks and isn't well received don't commit to it for the entire year. Adjust fire and tweak.

I can’t see in any world where the xp path is anywhere as good as our weekly rewards.. with that said I like how I don’t need to grind HUT like it’s a second job, plus I never have to touch squad battles again so I still think it’s a good improvement. Do you think they will adjust HUT champs rewards? Make that a mode you must go weekly if you really want to build your team?.. If not, as it stands currently we might be in a world of pain if you’re not spending money.

Seems like the AI defense is hyper aggressive and overpowered. I’m old and slow, but can’t hardly make a move after getting the puck without it being poked away in the D zone. AI D seems to be able to poke or tie-up from behind at will.
